Bei Bei (Bei Bei Monter, 荷蓓蓓) is a guzheng and guqin performer, composer, and recording artist. As one of the world’s premier guzheng musicians, she has played a key role in bringing this ancient Chinese instrument to a global audience. Since her 2006 debut, she has been featured on Disney soundtracks, performed with Christina Aguilera, and released several acclaimed albums. Her unique fusion of C

hinese and Western music continues to resonate with a growing fanbase. Born in Chengdu, China, Bei Bei studied at the Central University of Nationalities and the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, developing the virtuosity that defines her sound. After moving to Los Angeles, she began creating contemporary fusion works with artists like Shawn Lee and Fingazz. Driven by a deep love for Chinese music and a passion for innovation, Bei Bei continues to break new ground. With upcoming 2025 releases alongside electronic producer Paul Elliott, she remains a compelling force in modern music.

Join me on Sunday, November 2 at 2:00 PM at the Donald Dungan Library in Costa Mesa for a special live guzheng performance, where I’ll share the beauty and spirit of this ancient Chinese instrument through my original works and classical favorites.
As a guzheng performer, composer, and recording artist, and founder of the Lotus Bud Guzheng Academy, I’m honored to bring this program to our community and celebrate music that bridges cultures and generations.
