La Virgen De Guadalupe
I don’t really consider myself religious anymore. Growing up, the image of Christ on the cross never felt comforting to me. If anything, it made me uneasy. But the Virgen was different. She always felt like home.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized I’m not alone in that. Many people who’ve drifted away from catholicism still feel something when they see her. Not doctrine, not guilt, but warmth. Protection. A motherly presence. This piece isn’t about religion for me. It’s about memory, culture, and the quiet comfort that lingers even after my belief change.
