A FEW THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND
I don't understand most of these lyrics or speak most of these languages. A song's inclusion is based on one thing only: chart data. Not my endorsement, not my politics, not my taste.
The country outlines you see were generated using the Natural Earth dataset. It's just geographic data - I'm not making any political statements about borders or territories. The countries included are simply the ones that (a) are UN member states and (b) have YouTube Music or Apple Charts data available for the year.
Music, like culture, is messy and complicated, and can offend in various ways. If something rubs you the wrong way, take it up with the artists - this is just a record of what people actually listened to in 2025.
Songs are edited for flow - clips shortened, maybe words cut mid-phrase. I'm letting the feelings of the sounds lead, not the meaning. If I couldn't find a video for a song, I used a substitute video (but the audio is always the actual charted song).
All music and videos belong to their respective artists, labels, and rights holders.
