John Michael Bradford and The Vibe is a New Orleans band who plays different genres of music with a New Orleans flavor. The leader John Michael Bradford, is a Junior at NOCCA and attends the New Academic Studio program. He's played with many well known musicians around the city of New Orleans, such as Nicholas Payton,Big Sam, Shamarr Allen, Donald Harrison, Khris Royal, Jesse McBride, David Torkanowsky, Treme Brass Band, Kenny Terry, Marlon Jordan, Jeremy Davenport, Trombone Shorty, Kermit Ruffins, Rebirth, Young Fellaz, James Andrews, Glen Andrews, Leroy Jones, Windel Brunios, Kid Chocolate, Preservation Hall, and many more. Trad., and R@B to form his own sound. He has gathered around him a group of older musicians who are serious about their craft and who show exceptional talent. The name of the band, John Michael Bradford and The Vibe, came about from something that one of John Michael's teachers used to say. When the music wasn't what Mr. Kent Jordan wanted it to be, he'd say, "No, that's not the vibe. That's not the vibe." But when the music was right, he'd say, "Yeah, that's the vibe." This young group of musicians strives for the vibe in every song they perform or write.
