Got my hands on a 1995 F350 Powerstroke, only 80k on the odometer. It's been sitting in a storage building for who knows how long. Put new batteries in and it cranks. Pulled the fuel filter and it is probably the the worst filter I have ever seen. You guys think it is just broken down diesel or oil? The bottom of the filter bowl is full of this stuff as well.

2nd set of injector o-rings. These have less than 1k miles on them. The middle (pink) o-ring on multiple injectors looks burnt and has chunks missing. No other symptoms other than hard starting when engine is hot.
Any ideas what's causing this?

Is this how you sister joist with pipe cut out? Can someone help me figure out what’s going on here before I make a big deal out of nothing. We’re still in the building stage and I noticed this during a walkthrough. The added board looks short to me and the cut around the pipe looks rough. Is this a normal repair or should I bring it up?

Questionable work / code violations? I could really use honest opinions on this stair railing. We had this section rebuilt and the gaps along the steps look bigger than I expected. I’m not a contractor, but it doesn’t feel as secure as I thought it would. Would this pass, or should I have someone else look at it?

Is this 2x4 trim attachment normal? Been having some issues with my contractor and this is one of the things that caught my eye. The board doesn’t look flush, the screws seem random, and I’m not sure if this is a normal way to attach it or just rushed work. I could really use honest opinions before I bring it up again.

Bad luck Guys i need your advice. We’re building a home currently and I noticed this framing around one of the pipes during the walkthrough. I know rough framing isn’t supposed to be pretty, but this cutout and the added board beside it look strange to me. Is this how it’s normally fixed, or should I say something before drywall goes up?

Questionable work / code violations? We recently had our deck replaced because the old one was starting to rot, but now I’m looking underneath and not feeling great about some of these connections. I’m not a contractor, so I could be wrong, but the beam, brackets, and fasteners don’t look very clean to me. Can someone help me figure out if this is normal or if I should have it inspected?

Is this hole in the joist too close to the edge? We’re in a new build and I noticed this during the walkthrough. I know holes are normal for pipes and wires, but this one looks low and rough to me. Would you flag it before everything gets closed up?

Would this notch in the post bother you? The beam sits in it, but the cut looks deep and rough to me. I’m not sure if this is a normal way to support a deck beam or if too much wood was removed. Does this look okay?
