We’re Here For You, LA ❤️

As a Los Angeles-based company, we feel deeply connected to this city and its people. The recent wildfires have left a lasting impact, and our hearts go out to everyone affected.

During this time, we took a pause to focus on supporting those directly impacted—friends, families, and members of our team who have faced evacuations and losses. Now, as we resume our updates, we want to offer our support in the way we know best: through thoughtful design and rebuilding with resilience.

To help our community, we are offering complimentary consultations for those in need of guidance on rebuilding, restoring, or reimagining their spaces in the wake of the fires. Whether it’s assessing damage, exploring sustainable solutions, or simply offering a fresh perspective, we’re here for you.

To accommodate this, we will be developing an appointment calendar in the coming weeks to make it easier for those in need to schedule a time with our team.

Los Angeles is a city of strength, creativity, and renewal. Together, we move forward.

Stay safe, stay strong. 💪

When I became a mom, everything changed. My world suddenly shifted to focus on my daughter, Niika, and that perspective has shaped so much of how I approach my work as an architect. Parenting and architecture have more in common than you’d think—both require nurturing, collaboration, and an endless well of patience. Whether it’s guiding a child or managing a project, there’s so much to learn from both worlds. In my latest article, I reflect on the lessons I’ve learned from balancing these roles and how they’ve shaped me as both a parent and a professional. 🔗 in bio.

Take a moment. A deep breath can ground you, open your mind, and connect you to the present. When was the last time you paused just to breathe?

As this year comes to a close, I’m reflecting on the moments that shaped me—traveling to Croatia to honor my grandmother’s incredible legacy, reconnecting with family, and finding inspo in the landscapes of my roots; expanding professionally with impactful projects and licensing new courses; and navigating challenges like the loss of my stepdad, which revealed the resilience and grace within my family. Along the way, I deepened friendships, built new connections, and found gratitude in the magic of life’s surprises. Here’s to growth, love, and the adventures ahead. Let’s go!

Quentin Tarantino once said, *”Make it personal enough so you feel embarrassed to share it.”* That quote hits me deeply because, especially in our professional lives, we often separate ourselves from our work. We see it as something transactional—a way to make a living—completely detached from our personal lives. I’ve been thinking about why I chose this profession in the first place, and it’s because it speaks to a much deeper part of me, a reflection of who I am. But in the rush of deadlines, meetings, and corporate demands, we lose touch with that. We stop sharing the personal reasons behind why we do what we do, and in doing so, we create this separation that keeps us from really connecting with others.

I’ve also been having conversations lately about how disconnected we’ve become in our everyday lives. We don’t stop to share personal details or make real connections with people, even though that’s what makes us human. It feels safer to keep things surface-level, but it’s also isolating. When I think about how important it is to be kind and make human connections, I realize that being vulnerable, being open about the personal side of what we do, is one of the most powerful ways to break down that distance. It’s uncomfortable, maybe even embarrassing, but that’s where real connection happens—whether in our work or in life. And I’m realizing that maybe we all need a little more of that raw, personal vulnerability in everything we do.

I just had the most wonderful conversation with the brilliant Katerina Tana . This woman is a true mastermind, creative, and someone I deeply look up to. From the moment we met, we had a special connection, and this conversation felt incredibly meaningful. I can’t wait to share it with you!

It’s funny how this podcast of mine is really taking a hold of my time and efforts in architecture, but in the best way possible—it’s opened up my world and creativity in ways I never expected. Seeing all the different perspectives we each bring to the table is so important (and yes, I use my hands a lot!). Stay tuned for this special episode.

I sat down with Laura Pavlakovich , founder of a nonprofit supporting people with diabetes through mental health and community. Laura’s journey began in art and photography, giving a face to what is often seen as just a statistic.

Fresh off an event in New York, where she’s expanding her impact, Laura shared her experiences with diabetes, building a global community, and the creative passion driving her mission.

We’ve been busy filming incredible people like Laura, each sharing their unique stories of creativity and passion. Her story is a perfect example of what we celebrate on the Dope Designer Club podcast—at the core of every venture, there’s something deeply creative and human.

This episode will air in about four weeks, so stay tuned! 🎧

Adding nature to a building brings countless benefits: fresher air, reduced noise, lower temperatures, and a beautiful connection to the natural world. Whether it’s green walls, rooftop gardens, or trees surrounding the space, incorporating greenery can transform any structure into a healthier, more peaceful environment.

And let’s just say it—it *really* helps hide ugly architecture! 🌿😏

Important decisions, particularly those that impact your life path or personal growth, require introspection. In moments of stillness and self-reflection, you’re more likely to find clarity. Your inner voice knows your desires, values, and the context of your life better than anyone else. While it can be helpful to consult trusted mentors or experts, ultimately, the best decisions come from within. Trusting yourself, and finding moments of quiet to connect with your intuition, is key to navigating life’s pivotal choices.
