🌊 NEW UPDATE: Horizons of Steel & Salt 🌊

Captains, it’s time to weigh anchor! The latest update moves the battlefield from the trenches to the high seas with a massive naval expansion. From building your first Galley to mastering the new Battle Engine, here is everything you need to know.

🚢 THE DOCKYARD: FORGE YOUR FLEET
You can now construct four distinct classes of warships, each requiring specific materials like Cannons and Ship Parts. Your success depends on three key stats:

• Maneuverability: Increases your chance to attack first and provides a defensive bonus against cannon fire.
• Hull Strength: Represents resistance; the stronger the hull, the less damage you take.
• Crew Combat Prowess: Influences initiative and the likelihood of your cannons hitting the target.

⚔️ THE BATTLE ENGINE: CONQUER THE NODES
Sea combat is here! The "Conquer Node" system calculates battles in tactical phases:

1️⃣ Initiative: Determined by a D6 roll plus maneuverability and half of the crew value.
2️⃣ Chance to Hit: A base 50% chance, modified by your crew skill vs. the opponent’s maneuverability.
3️⃣ Damage: Hits consume cannonballs and deal damage based on your crew and ship strength.
4️⃣ Sinking: If a ship’s condition falls below zero, it is lost to the depths.

🛠️ CRAFTING & MAINTENANCE
A fleet is a major investment. Fleets require daily fees and materials like Nails, Wooden Boards, Bitumen, and Sails for upkeep.

• Cannons: Forged by Blacksmiths using Iron and Coal.
• Cannonballs: Crafted by Potters using Stone (1 pile recharges 4 shots).
• Ship Parts: Built by Carpenters using Rope, Boards, Bitumen, and Sails.

⚓ STRATEGY & VISIBILITY
• Chaining: A War Ship or Transport Ship must lead your chain on the sea.
• Visibility: Forget soldier counts—at sea, visibility is based on ship type. A massive Galleon is much easier to spot than a nimble Galley.
• Fire Risk: Mobile structures can catch fire! A ship on fire cannot be moved until it's dealt with.

Released Patch

Hear ye, hear ye! A new patch has arrived!

To streamline our game's code, we've updated the "King" and "Queen" roles to a single, gender-neutral term: "Regent." This was a significant change under the hood!
