Alfonse Mucha and the influence on Psychedelic poster art in the 60's-70's. I drove up to Santa Fe yesterday. The New Mexico Museum of Art has a terrific retrospective on one of the masters of drawing, painting, magazine cover art and of course amazing posters of Sarah Bernhardt amongst others. The show lead to a section where Fillmore East and West was covered by the leading counterculture artists that of course included David Edward Byrd. I was overcome with pride and a bit of sadness with his loss to see two of my David's most beautiful posters included. David's one man show from '72 which can also be seen in a photoshoot with Bette Midler at Triton Gallery for After Dark magazine. David knew the printer of Mucha posters so the poster was designed to utilize the space left on paper being used to print a Mucha poster. That's why it is in the long tall format of Mucha posters. He actually owned this 40's suit. It's one of my favorites. David's classic rock poster legacy lives on. www.davidedwardbyrdposters.bigcartel.com

A very nostalgic article on our dear friend (Gary Essert) who brought David and myself on at the beginning of the creation of the American Cinematheque. It's more important to me than ever because this poster is in the permanent poster collections at MOCA, LACMA and the Louvre among other museums. It was one of the best collaborations between my beloved David and myself. And we are there together. We have signed copies in stock from the original run of posters.

Jolino Beserra here. I'm David's husband. I gratefully Thank You All for the orders and kind words celebrating David Byrd's career. His legacy lives on because of you. I wanted to announce that I have a little over one box each of pre signed paper for folios and single prints before I switch to the new format of a printed signature and a custom embossed trademark caricature that has been designed to certify authenticity from the Estate of David Edward Byrd.

Hello Friends and Fans.This is my first post on David's page since the passing of my beloved David Byrd. My fingers are crossed that the request for photos of David from the TONYS committee is leading to a mention in the memorial segment of the TONYS telecast. Though he is more widely known for his rock posters his work for the theatre is just as beautiful and worthy of mention. I'm on a learning curve to start creating posts and ads to keep his legacy alive. I want to introduce his work to a new generation as well as collectors and designers. I still have some pre-signed presentation paper available for full size posters and his rock and theatre folios before I switch to printed signatures. His caricature trademark will be embossed on every future print to signify that they are from the official David Byrd Estate. I'm researching embossing machines that will work with the heavy printing paper that David liked to use.
