Latitude For Art is an arts non-profit based in California which develops creative communities in urban and rural settings with artist residencies and long term housing for artists and seniors. We benefiting surrounding neighborhoods through cultural exchange, contemporary art exhibitions and exploration of new ideas. We founded and ran an artist residency in Iceland until 2021. In 2022 we opened

a pilot art residency in Echo Park, Los Angeles and are expanding nomadic and embedded residencies in Los Angeles.

Update: Thank you for the many applications for artist residency. Our volunteer program committee is hard at work on the difficult process of selection. Replies will go out early March for those received so far. We are honored by your enthusiasm for Latitude. This process took much more time than we imagined.

Can you help us fund our 2026 residency program? were asking for donations, however small to grow our 2026 residency program. Between now and the end of the year were fundraising for needed supplies, upgrades to the residence, equipment, repairs and keeping our 100-year old residency and apartment building with affordable units for creatives going. GilfjordurArts - an artist residency in Iceland

GilsfjordurArts offers an artist residency in a former farmhouse “Brekka” for Icelandic and international artists from various disciplines to engage with the landscape and connect with communities in the Westfjords.

We provide visiting artists with a dedicated space and time to create in an environment of open inquiry and free from prescribed outcomes.

The residency was inspired by its remoteness and the engagement with nature and silence. We encourage visiting artists to set up communal interactions in nearby communities through artists talks, projections or workshops etc by introducing you to local institutions and creating an event with their audience.
