This is the new stage musical adaptation of Stuart Gordon's 1985 horror classic, "H.P. Lovecraft's Re-Animator." Gordon himself returns to co-write the book and direct, with Dennis Paoli & William Norris returning to help pen the script, along with Chicago's Mark Nutter providing music & lyrics. This all-new stage adaptation sold out its 2011 engagement at the Steve Allen Theater followed in 2012 another run at LA's Hayworth Theater, a sold-out run at NYMF, a critically acclaimed run at Edinburgh Fringe, a return to the Steve Allen in 2014, a limited engagement at the Smith center in Las Vegas in 2015, and the original cast album recording in 2016. Re-Animator tells the story of Herbert West, a brilliant young medical student who has created a glowing green serum that can bring the dead back to life. What should be a medical breakthrough results in hideous monstrosities and ghastly consequences. “I guess he just wasn’t fresh enough,” is West’s constant refrain as his quest for fresh subjects results in the murders of half the faculty of the medical school. The original FX team of John Naulin, Tony Doublin and John Beuchler return for spectacular mechanical, blood, and zombie effects. The first three rows are a designated "Splash zone" where fans get drenched in blood from the stage. The original cast album was recorded in june 2016 and stars George Wendt as Dean Halsey, Graham Skipper as Herbert West, Chris McKenna as Dan Cain, Rachel Avery as Meg Halsey, Jesse Merlin as Dr. Carl Hill, Marlon Grace as Mace, Cynthia Carle as Dr. Harrod, and ensemble members Brian Gillespie, Liesel Hanson and Mark Beltzman. Former cast members include Jessica Howell, Darren Ritchie, Harry Murphy, Ken Campbell, Tyler Milliron, and Richardson Jones. http://www.ReAnimatorTheMusical.com

Our Dr. Hill is doing his first puppetry role since his 200 decapitations some years ago.

He's a sinister space alien in the outlandish hit musical "For the Love of a Glove" about Michael Jackson at the Sagan-Druyan Theater (the successor venue to the Steve Allen Theater, where RTM was born).

He's only guaranteed to perform through June 24th... you really don't want to miss this.

On August 11, 1947 director Stuart Gordon was born in Chicago, Illinois. Gordon attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and soon after formed Screw Theater in the summer of 1968. After the University of Wisconsin demanded future theatrical productions by Screw Theater be overseen by a university professor, Gordon cut his University ties to form Broom Street Theater. Gordon made his directorial debut with the horror classic Re-Animator in 1985. He followed Re-Animator with From Beyond (1986), Dolls (1986), Daughter of Darkness (1990), Robot Jox (1990), The Pit and the Pendulum (1991), Fortress (1992), Castle Freak (1995), Space Truckers (1996), Dagon (2001), King of Ants (2003), Stuck (2007) and Fear Itself (2008). For the Masters of Horror Showtime series, he directed the episodes “Dreams In The Witch-House” and “The Black Cat”. With Brian Yuzna and writer Ed Naha he co-created Honey, I Shrunk the Kids for Disney Studios and executive produced the sequel Honey, I Blew Up the Kid. He also co-wrote Body Snatchers for Warner Brothers in 1993 and The Dentist for Trimark in 1998. In 2011 Gordon produced, directed and co-wrote the book for Re-Animator: The Musical. It played to sold out houses, rave reviews and standing ovations for six months at the Steve Allen Theater. In 2012, it was performed at the New York Musical Theater Festival (NYMF) and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Gordon's next play Taste, premiered at Los Angeles' Sacred Fools Theater Company in April 2014. The play, based on the true story of Armin Meiwes, the Rotenburg Cannibal, was written by Benjamin Brand. (Photo Credit: Film Struck Daily)
