Aristides has an extensive background as cellist in the classical styles as well as jazz and world music. He has a Grammy nomination as part of the album Sounding Point, with the Julian Lage Group, a touring jazz band. Aristides is also a devoted teacher and educator, who teaches at UMass Lowell, and privately. Aristides also contracts musicians for private events, helping to promote live music in new environments and engage the community with its local artists.

It was such a treat and surprise to meet my friends from the Boston Philharmonic in Tokyo last week! Maestro Benjamin Zander and the BPYO delivered a fantastic concert! Seeing my dear friends Mark Churchill Noriko Futagami , Peter and so many more, made me realize how lucky I am, and how grateful I am to music to allow me to cross paths with so many amazing artists and human beings! Que viva la música ❤️

I should be practicing Brahms double concerto right now, but instead, I’m procrastinating with this cute Bazilian “choro” called “Um a zero” by the composer Pixinguinha. I learned it many years ago as it became a staple of encores during our tours with the Orchestra of the Americas and my dear friend and amazing human being bringing the house down at the end of every concert. The adaptation to cello is not the most friendly with fingerings but I’m trying to make it work and have fun with it :)

Looking forward to playing a beautiful program for piano trio tomorrow for the Chamber Concert Series! I’m lucky to collaborate with two wonderful musicians, friends, and colleagues Lara Urrutia and Egle Jarkova. Come tomorrow Sunday to First Presbyterian Church of Redlands at 2:30pm 🙏
