A running animal is more than legs moving back and forth.
Watch what happens to the torso. As the legs gather beneath the body, energy is stored. As the spine extends, that energy is released. The entire animal becomes a living spring.
This is the kind of thinking Iโm exploring throughout my new book, Through the Eyes of an Animator: Drawing Animals the Aaron Blaise Way.
My goal isnโt just to teach anatomy. Itโs to teach you how to see movement, structure, and life beneath the surface.
