I’m so very sorry, Barbara was kind yet fierce, she valiantly supported the LA theater community for decades.
The Gods speed Barbara, I will see you on the other side.

It is with an extremely heavy heart that we must share with all of you that our beloved, Artistic Director Emerita and founding member of the Colony Theatre, Barbara Beckley, has passed away. Barbara was a Los Angeles theatre icon, mentor, and friend to so many. She made a home for thousands of theatrical artists and theatre lovers. Her legacy will live on forever. There are no words to describe how much we will miss her.
A memorial service to celebrate her incredible life is currently being planned.

“Barbara Beckley grew up in New Rochelle, NY, attended Middlebury College in Vermont, and graduated from New York’s Neighborhood Playhouse where she studied with Sanford Meisner. Shortly after relocating to Los Angeles, she co-founded The Colony Theatre in 1975, and has since produced most of the company’s mainstage productions. In 1993 she received Women in Theatre’s Outstanding Contribution Award, and was the keynote speaker at ShowBiz West’s 1994 West Coast Theatre Expo. She has served on the Peer Review Committees of the Pasadena Arts Council and the L.A. County Arts Commission. For three years she served as President of the Board of Theatre LA (now L.A. Stage Alliance). In 1999 she received Theatre LA’s James A. Doolittle Ovation Award for Leadership in L.A. Theatre. In 2000, she led The Colony to its new home, a 270-seat Equity theatre created for it by the City of Burbank. Starting in 2003, the company has appeared every year in the Encyclopedia Britannica Almanac on its list of “25 Notable U.S. Theatre Companies,” and in 2006 was voted by the readers of LA Daily News “Best Live Theatre in Los Angeles.” She was a board member of Burbank Arts for All and served on Burbank’s Cultural Arts Commission.”

Tomorrow is our last day to vote my friends.
I know that we are all sick of this political madness; I hope that we all vote for our country and our world, not for a political party, we all bleed the same color, we are all in this together as sisters and brothers, stewards of our country and planet.
What’s best for our planet, it’s never going to be perfect, but how can we all help each other and our planet?
Honestly I would have voted for John McCain back in the day, however a better candidate for President came along, Barak Obama.
My Friends I also used to think that the Dem's and the Republican's were all basically different sides of same corrupt American coin. But after the last nine years of ongoing Trump/maga lies, Trump’s corruption and hate filled hyperbole always directed at the poor, the weak and people in need, we can All now plainly see that Donald Trump’s MAGA is the party of LIES, hatred, racism, anti-LGBTQ, anti-Immigrant, anti-black, anti-hispanic, anti-Asian, anti-South American, anti-everyone that isn't WHITE. MAGA is the Party of corruption, hypocrisy, the Party of the K*K, and QAnon.
Trump has proven a willingness to kill our fellow citizens and our police for profit.
Right now Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are the only way out of the Donald Trump driven hatred, cruelty and insanity that we all have had forced upon us. Trump is obviously a traitors to the United States of America, let’s all vote as true Patriots, Of the People, By the people and For the People.

For my younger family and friends who are still undecided about this election.
I beg you to do one simple thing, watch a recent Trump rally and then watch a recent Harris rally. It may be stressful and possibly even make you sick but it’s our obligation to, each other, to take the time and make the effort to be well informed about these candidates, and then to vote. We may not love either candidate, we will definitely find fault with each of them, which is as it should be!
Then make the choice for the candidate that is best for our fellow Americans, vote for the candidate that is best for our planet, vote for the candidate who has positive intentions.
Take the time to watch both rallies, we owe that much to the Americans that fought for our worlds freedom, we owe that much to our wives, we owe that much to our daughters, and to our mothers and sisters.
It’s time to make choice.
I believe in us all, we are kind, honest and good, WE the PEOPLE are the masters of OUR DESTINY.

I didn't know that these photo's existed. For my OG Knightsbridgians, this was the Knightsbridge Pasadena lobby, decorated for our first Halloween in 1993. We produced an original production of 'Dracula', in those days the idea was to promote local artists on the lobby walls but after a few painting were damaged or stollen we had to stop that practice.
