📣 Important Announcement

LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes will be closed on Wednesday, June 17, and Thursday, June 18, as we prepare for the Casa México Live Viewing Party: México vs. South Korea.

⚽ Doors for the Live Viewing Party will open at 4 pm. Visitors are welcome to explore the museum galleries from 4–6 pm before kickoff.

🎟️ Arrive early! An RSVP does not guarantee entry. Guests with RSVPs will be admitted at the entrance only if space is available.

As part of the Casa México experience, be sure to visit LA Plaza's exhibitions, including Painted Goals by Jazzamoart and Weaving Nets by artist Betsabeé Romero.

Please note that LA Plaza will also be closed on Friday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.

This past weekend, we welcomed Jotería: El Amor es Resistencia to LA Plaza, and what a celebration it was!

From stand-up comedy and salsa and bachata lessons to live DJs, local vendors, and community connections, we came together to celebrate Pride Month with joy, resilience, and love.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today for a powerful conversation with authors Reyna Grande and Julissa Arce. Together, they discussed the creative process behind Reyna Grande’s newly published book, “Migrant Heart: Essays About Things I Can’t Forget.”

They reflected on writing as Latinas, the end of the American dream, finding confidence in their voices, and navigating the challenges that come with telling their stories.

While Reyna shared how she learned to overcome some insecurities, Julissa joked about learning to deal with an excess of confidence.

The countdown is on—Casa México is coming to LA Plaza! 🇲🇽⚽

Get a first glimpse of Tejiendo Redes, an installation by artist Betsabeé Romero that brings together art, community, and the spirit of football soccer.

This contemporary art project brings together migrant communities through a collaborative creative process. Through participatory workshops, community members help weave a collective network that takes shape as a sculptural soccer goal. The installation features metal figures representing both pre-Hispanic ballplayers and contemporary soccer players, interwoven with textiles created by participating communities. This binational project creates a dialogue between art, culture, and sport, celebrating identity and the connections that unite people across borders.
