One thousand years ago, deep inside an ancient cedar forest, a young hunter named Aruk woke before sunrise. Thick fog drifted between the giant trees as he searched for food for his tribe. While walking through the wet earth, he discovered enormous hoofprints unlike anything he had ever seen. The tracks were fresh, and they led deeper into the wilderness.

Curious and cautious, Aruk followed the trail with several tribe members. The footprints crossed streams, climbed hills, and disappeared into a valley filled with towering ferns. There, standing silently in the mist, was a creature beyond beliefβ€”a giant elk. Its antlers stretched like the branches of a tree, and its powerful body seemed larger than any animal the tribe had ever encountered.
