✨ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: AUBREY SITUMORANG

THIS SUNDAY, JANUARY 25th, Leimert Park Jazz Festival is thrilled to kick off its 2026 Sunday Jazz Monthly Concert Series at The World Stage Art, Education & Performance Gallery with the incredible Aubrey Situmorang, launching both the new year and the first of her three-month residency.

Aubrey is an Indonesian bass player currently residing in Los Angeles, CA. Aubrey has played for notable artists from an array of genres, including the Grammy® winning pianist and composer Billy Childs, double-platinum artist Bipolar Sunshine, and singer/producer SASAMI. Her album One Point One received a nomination for Best Jazz Album at Indonesia’s highest music awards, Anugerah Musik Indonesia, in 2022.

🎶Join us as Aubrey sets the tone for the series with a one-hour host band set, followed by a one-hour open jam.

How sad that SHAKERS in South Pasadena is going to be torn down soon. The developers recently told the South Pasadenan that new development will begin in the spring of 2026. That’s coming up fast. It’s just awful to lose another Vintage Diner.
