On Earth, one year takes 365 days — the time it takes our planet to complete one orbit around the Sun.

But across the solar system, time moves very differently.

Mercury races around the Sun in just 88 days, while Venus takes 225 days. Mars needs 687 days to finish one orbit, and the giant planets take much longer.

Jupiter takes about 12 Earth years.

Saturn takes 29.

Uranus takes 84.

Neptune takes 165.

And distant Pluto takes about 248 Earth years to complete one journey around the Sun.

The farther a world is from the Sun, the longer its orbit usually takes.

VENUS WILL VANISH BEHIND THE MOON 🌙✨

On June 17, one of the most beautiful sky events of the month takes place: the Moon will pass in front of Venus, briefly hiding the brilliant planet from view in a lunar occultation.

The full occultation will be visible from parts of the United States, Canada, Brazil, and Venezuela.

For Vietnam and many other locations outside the direct path, the sky will still offer a breathtaking view: a thin crescent Moon and Venus appearing extremely close together in the twilight.
