Thanks a bunch to my lovely assistant , Rory and the crew, to all the sponsors and room party hosts, to old and new friends who popped by to say hi, and ESPECIALLY to everyone who took home art or tiki mugs! Here’s a look at my favorite mag illustration job, from a 2010 issue of magazine. I was asked to visualize something to accompany a dramatic story by Jack Dolan. I tried to give it a pulp fiction look, and it’s also clearly influenced by the art of . The last shot is the uncropped painting on canvas. Sorry I don’t remember who bought the painting.

Mug designer BigToe, aka Tom Laura, learned to surf at the beaches around Hermosa Beach, so it was only natural to draw on this inspiration when asked to design a mug for Tiki Kai!
