Born on November 14, 1946 in Mississippi, Carl’s life was a tapestry of rich artistic achievement, deep connection, and true kindness.

Carl dedicated 50 incredible years to Hollywood, leaving an indelible impact on film, television, and stage. In his later years, he found peace and joy on his beloved ranch near Palmdale, California, where he lived as both actor and farmer. The ranch was Carl’s sanctuary, a place of nature, animals, and quiet reflection. His goats were treasured like children, and he embodied the heart of the original Dr. Doolittle, gentle, compassionate, and endlessly patient.

Carl’s journey in performance began with formal study in stage and film at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York, paving the way for a vast and powerful career. Over decades, he appeared in 50 film and television productions, delivered 33 theatrical performances, and captivated audiences with one remarkable Broadway credit.
