Peter C Johnson Photograghy A fourteen-foot kayak is my bridge to places where I find silence, peace and solitude.

It provides me a ready means to be outside on the water, to get out of my head, and to reconnect with nature. The planner in me enjoys the logistics of the trip -- watching the weather, knowing when the sun will rise and set. My exploring nature appreciates that I can go places in a kayak where most boaters cannot. But it is the artist in me that leads me to be a silent visitor to that other world

on the water. On the water, that part of me experiences things that stimulate all my senses and thoroughly embraces the absolute unpredictability of what I will see. My photos are an attempt to capture those moments in an image that allows others to share these feelings. I discovered that with a photograph I can relive those moments of connection to nature, and share them with others not so fortunate or bold.
