Regina Williams is Elice Johnson.

Regina Williams is an award-winning powerhouse of an actress, creator, and producer, seen in High School Musical: Get in the Picture! (ABC), Criminal Minds (CBS), Zach Stone is Going to Be Famous (MTV), Drake and Josh (Nickelodeon), Men in Black II, and two films written and directed by Ride Along film director Tim Story.

Regina earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre from Alliant International University. Shortly after graduating, Regina refined her lifelong passion for acting withthe esteemed Howard Fine of the Howard Fine Acting Studioand Margie Haber. Regina also holds a certificate in Radio and Television Broadcasting from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting. She is a former dance professor at the University of Southern California’s School of Theater.

The multi-talented actress is also the Co-Executive Producer and Creator of the reality TV show Got Game, which Discovery Studios produced in association with BET.

From the moment Elice was penned there was no doubt in my mind who Elice Johnson was and there was no other actress we wanted to play this role. Regina has a gift of telling so much story through her eyes. Terence Mathews II is Zeek Johnson.

Terence Mathews II is a Los Angeles based actor. He began his career at just 4 years old and has gained experience in on camera commercial, television and voiceover/looping mediums. Mr. Mathews is currently completing his final year of Meisner training at the Elizabeth Mestnik Acting Studio in Studio City, California. He is beyond excited to make his theatrical debut portraying Zeek, and is extremely grateful for his family, friends, and team for their constant love and support.

DIRECTORS NOTE:
As someone who’s been in class with him, Terence has always been a raw ball of potential and it’s been incredible to watch him transition that into something lived-in, grounded, and undeniable. There’s a fire he has inside of him that I don’t even think he knows about. Greatness. It’s in him, and I can’t wait for him to walk into it even more and bring Zeek to life!

Mina Quarterman is Evania Johnson.

Mina’s return to her theatrical roots in Nodding Off in Church at the Long Beach Playhouse marks a long-awaited full-circle moment for the actor, writer, and stand-up comedian. She began her journey onstage at age 9 in The Rising of the Son, an adaptation of Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin in the Sun—a rich and weighty role for a young performer just discovering her voice. Though much of her career has flourished in the world of comedy, stepping into the layered, quietly powerful role of Evania Johnson is a challenge she has embraced wholeheartedly.
Her deep respect and affection for the theater make this project especially meaningful, amplified by the opportunity to be part of Landon Moss’s debut as both playwright and director of this resonant new work. Mina recently wrote and starred in her own short film, Proof of Life, also directed by Moss. She can next be seen as recurring character Courtney Cooper in The Varnell Hill Show, the upcoming spinoff of Martin, premiering in 2026.
While she continues to create vibrant characters and slice-of-life moments across social media, Mina is honored to begin this year with a role so close to her heart. Rooted in her own Southern Baptist upbringing in Lithonia, Georgia, she looks forward to illuminating the nuanced experiences of African American families through this story.

DIRECTORS NOTE:
What can’t you say about Mina, she is everything any director could want in an actor. She brought something to Evania, a fire and a passion we had initially believed E suppressed. Absolutely blew us away in the room and I’m honored and excited to be working with Mina on yet another project!

Charmaine Shaw is Aunt Nadine.

Charmaine Shaw is an Orlando-raised talent with training from Florida A&M and the Savannah College of Art and Design. Her credits include GRITS and The Underground Railroad, with a new role coming soon in HomeGirls. Charmaine is delighted to bring her energy to this current production.

Charmaine is a star. A complete and utter star. She’s funny, she’s present and she’s exactly the soul of who we envisioned when we were create the character of Aunt Nadine. It is truly an honor to be working with such a talent like Charmaine!!

Andrew Perkins is Wallace Johnson.

Andrew Perkins is grateful to take part in telling this story! Andrew has trained at the Elizabeth Mestnik Acting Studio and calls the stage his home. He gives a huge thank you to the cast and crew for making this show such a wonderful experience.

I’ve always be a fan of Andrew he’s incredibly talented and soon as he finished his audition, I knew we had found our Wallace.There’s a gentleness that he brings to the character that honestly I hadn’t initially thought of, but once we saw it, we knew.

Maurice G. smith is Reverend Turner.

Maurice G. Smith is a SAG-AFTRA and AEA actor with an MFA from the Mountview Theatre Conservatoire in London. His career spans film, television, and theatre, including recurring roles on Meet the Browns, Kingdom Business, ER, and Young Dylan, and supporting roles in films such as A Madea Homecoming, Uncle Drew, Mr. Deeds, Bruce Almighty, and Loved to Death.

Onstage, Maurice has performed leading roles in Othello, The Piano Lesson, Home, and classical works including Twelfth Night and Two Gentlemen of Verona.

A powerful dramatic performer with a deep baritone voice and strong physical presence, Maurice excels in straight plays, classical drama, and roles that require authority, emotional depth, and mentorship. He is active in the Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York, and Chicago markets.

DIRECTORS NOTE:
Working with Maurice on the piano lesson was more than any actor could ask for, the discoveries we made during that show and the game he would give me is more than anybody could ask for! I’m excited to be working with such a talented actor on the other side and look forward to seeing what he creates with Rev Turner!
