Thank you to our featured poets, Pamela Pan and Gabriele Myers, for the generosity of their words and their beautiful, grounded presence.

Pamela’s book launch of Tasting Moments felt intimate and luminous. Her poems move gently, yet with unmistakable intention, carrying tender memory in every line. Family threads run deep in her work, stitched with love and remembrance. She does not look away from sorrow. She names it, faces it, and renders heartbreak with an honesty that lingers long after the reading ends.

Gabrielle read from Points in the Network, revealing the radiant ties that bind us across time, place, and memory. With courage and care, she honors the small textures of daily life. Her poems offer a vision of wholeness that does not turn from darkness, but holds it alongside light.

I am overflowing with gratitude for a beautiful lunch at Doe Library with the Siglo Scholars and for the chance to slow down to truly connect.

There is something deeply special about bringing together past scholars and future scholars in the same space. Sharing stories, laughter, and dreams of studying poetry in Ireland this summer reminded me why literary community is so vital. It is built in thoughtful and rooted moments.

Thank you, Ned Leiba, for believing so fully in poets and for nurturing spaces where creativity and mentorship can flourish.

Soon, those same voices will carry their words to Ireland, where poetry reminds us that the world is made and remade by imagination.

I hope you can come and celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. with our community!Join us for an afternoon of reflection, music, student voices, and community as we come together to celebrate unity, not just as an idea, but as a practice.

I’m honored to be part of Lodi’s 28th Anniversary Celebration of Unity, a gathering that honors the life and living vision of Martin Luther King Jr.

I’ll be sharing a brand-new original poem, written in the spirit of Dr. King’s reminder that what we do to one another matters. This poem is about connection, responsibility, and the quiet, everyday choices that shape justice.

What an evening! The Tuleburg Press chapbook release featuring Molly Wahl, Cassi Nesmith, Lishe’a Wilkerson, and Darcey Rose was filled with beautiful, honest poetry that resonated deeply with everyone in the room. Hearing each poet read their work aloud reminded us of the power of voice, vulnerability, and careful craft. Mosaic of Voices reminded us why we gather. Why we listen. Why poetry still matters. I am deeply thankful to our featured poets for sharing work that felt generous, grounded, and fully alive in the room.

Harrie Alley brought story, imagination, and humor to the afternoon. Her poetry moved effortlessly between memory and myth, carrying us through childhood, landscape, and wonder. There was a joyful openness in her reading, paired with deep wisdom and careful craft. Her poems reminded us that language can hold both history and magic, and that storytelling itself is a form of love.

Cassi W. Nesmith read with a quiet confidence that drew us in. Her poems were thoughtful and precise, rooted in lived experience and an attentive gaze on the world around her. There is a steadiness in her voice and a trust in the power of simple, honest language. Each poem unfolded with care, leaving space for reflection and feeling. It is the kind of work that stays with you long after the reading ends.

I am also grateful to everyone who stepped up during the open mic. Thank you for your courage, your honesty, and your willingness to share your work aloud. Each poem added something real and necessary to the afternoon, shaping the collective experience.

Where sirens split the night and mothers fall to their knees, we whisper the names of the wounded, the stolen, the beloved.

Too many futures stolen, too many families holding grief like a weight that refuses to loosen.

I am beyond grateful and excited to share that I was chosen as a Sligo Scholar,a fully funded John F. Hardiman Fellowship! I was awarded for this honor for my writing, teaching, and commitment to our community.

During the summer of 2026, I’ll travel to Ireland to attend the Yeats International Summer School,where writers from all over the world come together to learn and explore poetry.

This amazing Fellowship covers round-trip airfare, housing in Sligo, all program fees, and four nights in Dublin. I’ll get to visit historic literary sites, explore Dublin, and grow as an individual.

My heart is overflowing with gratitude for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I can’t wait to walk the streets that inspired W.B. Yeats and so many others!
