At exactly 9:03 AM, while I’m burrito-wrapped in blankets like a peaceful woodland creature sipping my tea, I get the call.

My husbandish, already halfway to work, goes:
“Hey… why does your calendar say you have a doctor’s appointment at 9:30?”

…

Excuse me, what.

I slowly turn my head like I’m in a low-budget horror film, open my calendar, and there it is… glowing… mocking me…

9:30 AM. TODAY.

What followed can only be described as an Olympic-level survival montage:

– Launched out of bed like my house was on fire
– Showered at a speed that violated several laws of physics
– Took my meds like a responsible-ish adult
– Brushed my teeth with the intensity of someone being timed
– Fed and watered all four animals who were like “wow she’s spiraling again”
– Threw on clothes that technically count as an outfit

And by some miracle, some divine intervention, some glitch in the matrix…

I AM SITTING AT THE DOCTOR’S OFFICE AT 9:30.

Hair? Questionable.
Dignity? Left somewhere near the toothpaste.
But I made it.

Honestly, if this isn’t proof I can handle anything life throws at me, I don’t know what is.

Apparently there’s a rumor floating around that because I’m moving to Florida, I’ve just tossed my business into the ocean like a dramatic movie scene and whispered, “she’s free now” 🌊😂

This year has been a whole journey of growth, clarity, and making some big life decisions behind the scenes. The kind where you sit with yourself and ask…
“Is this still aligned with where I’m going?”

What started as a quick 4-day trip for my grandson’s 1st birthday somehow turned into… buying a whole house 😅🏡
Because apparently I don’t do anything halfway.

But truthfully… this move has been on my heart for a while.
More time with family.
A slower, more intentional lifestyle.
Space to grow, create, and build this business even bigger and better for YOU.

Now don’t panic — TheJRuthCo is NOT going anywhere.

We came to Florida for peace, sunshine, and “quality time”…

I have instead turned into a fabric-seeking missile with zero self-control 🌴🧵

Tell me why I can sniff out a fabric store from 3 miles away like a bloodhound with a Joann’s rewards account??

My husband-ish: “Do you really need more fabric?”
Me, already holding 7 bolts like a raccoon in a Hobby Lobby dumpster:
✨yes✨

Because THIS flamingo print? Essential.
That citrus one? Life-altering.
The random neutral I didn’t come in for? Suddenly my entire personality.

At this point he doesn’t even argue anymore. He just follows me around like a defeated mall husband while I whisper “this would be so cute” to literally every piece of fabric like I’ve lost custody of my sanity.

Anyway… if you see me at the airport dragging a suitcase that sounds like crinkling dreams and poor financial decisions… mind your business.

Running a handmade business means I go to the fabric store for ‘just a few things’ and leave looking like a traveling quilt merchant from 1873.

But listen… every bolt whispered to me.

So naturally I had no choice.

I should not be allowed in Hobby Lobby unsupervised.
I came here for fabric… simple mission. In and out. Responsible adult behavior.
