Purpose
In this life, we experience great personal loss, loved ones, and lovers, possessions and fortunes at great emotional cost.

Exercising our free will, we try and try to make our own way, and blame God and others, when we create our own dismay.

We crash and break like the ocean waves on the rocky coast, neglecting and rejecting the advice and direction of He that loves us the most.

We question and lament why things go the way they go, and never yield our will, as our own plan we prefer, better we know.

So we struggle and suffer holding on to the pain of each and every war, until we find ourselves broken and weeping on the floor.

Our weakness apparent, ego finally shattered with nowhere left to turn, the spirit comes to greet us, with a compassionate heart of light and love, that for us forever burns.

Even at our lowest, we still manage to resist, denying the love from our creator, the very reason we exist.

And yet, in spite of our disobedience, lack of repentance, and faith, He knows our inner workings best, and offers us a place of safety, forgiveness, and eternal rest.

When we finally realize we can't fight the battles we were never meant to win, let go and surrender, and truly give in.

That glorious day when we give our heart over to the one and only true God, He restores us completely, and our old ways become quite foreign, and odd.

Beloved, if you're still trying to do it all on your own, if you're tired and can't any longer bear the pain, let God have it, and your life will never be the same.

For this is our purpose, to bring glory to our creator above, to receive His amazing grace, peace, forgiveness, and unfailing love.

From the Outside In

Outside in the remote wild places, is where I get to go within, The start of any wooded trail or path, is where I like to begin.

The farther away from civilization I get, the deeper and deeper within I go, into a state of consciousness, most people will never get to experience, or know.

Here in this place there are no lists of "have to do", or measurements of time. There is only a blissful state, that overcomes me, which my words poorly define.

Some may say I am strange, or would be bored with such things, about them not even care. But for me, this is my idea of paradise on Earth, just out being and breathing the fresh air.

I take notice of the way the sunlight shines through the trees, I hear the Great Spirit on the wind, dancing over the flowers and leaves.

Hyperfocused and aware of every living thing that moves about, reminding me that the world is a beautiful place, without a doubt.

Here the in the outside, is where I go within,
To recharge my systems, so a new week I can begin.

This is my temple, the church where I pray, surrounded by God's creatures in a solitary way.

Most importantly it is a Never-ending source of joy and hope, for any and all that are bound by lifes' rope.

Latest poem (Untitled)

I park my truck at the trail head as I have so many times before, then begin to wade through the sea of nettles, rising from the forest floor.

As the stinging barbs, send electric sensations through my skin, I know that my work day is over, and my free time now begins.

Even though I move about quietly, I am scolded by a red tailed hawk, it's likely I disturbed the dinner which he desperately wanted to stalk.

Step by step into the forest I disappear more than a mile, now aware of my body and breath, and realize that it's been a while.

After some time, when I feel I've hiked the city away, I remember how good it is, and how grateful I am to be able to get away.

I decide to stop and take some time to rest, and it's really this part of the whole experience that I truly love best.

I find a suitable spot to stop on an old dead log, gather my thoughts and then begin to blog.

Here is sit on this dead oak, off deep in the woods, even though the pieces of my life around me fall, I'm feeling in an elevated mood that is good.

There are no other humans around as best as I can hear,
Surrounded by the lush green forest, the songbirds chatter to let others know, that I am near.

The is sunlight slowly fading through the distant trees, reminds me how every precious moment of life so quickly flees.

It's a summer day in June, the air thick with humidity, sweat pours from my brow, my glasses fogging, I struggle to see.

The calm interrupted by a stampede of crashing hooves, as a group of whitetails display their evasive moves.

I can hear several woodpeckers making holes, to carve out a new home, and I find myself at peace, and far from alone.

Here in this place I feel myself lighten and lift, as my worries fade away and my spirt is allowed to drift.

This is no accident, because this is how were were created to be, at one with all living things, and our earth, not just humaity.

So get out, and get away from the concrete jungle as often as you can, connect with nauture, and remeber how it feels to be, part of the master's plan.
