🌊 SEPTEMBER POP-UPS ARE HERE! 🐚🪼

We only have FOUR public pop-ups this September, one in each city! Our fall calendar is filling up quickly with school sessions (which we’re SO excited about! 🥹), so we wish we could squeeze in more… but that means you won’t want to miss your city’s date!

And this month’s theme is one of our favorites…

🤿 UNDER THE SEA! 🌊

Come explore ⭐ Starfish 🪼 Jellyfish 🪸 Tidepools 🤿 Scuba divers 🐚 And plenty of hands-on, ocean-inspired play!

Four cities. Four chances of community pop-up play. Then we’re off to spend our fall days bringing The Garden Museum to local schools!

Save your city’s date + grab your session passes early! We can’t wait to play under the sea with you. 🌊

What brought you here? 🌿
Maybe it was the play.
Maybe it was getting everyone out of the house for a slow morning at the park.
Maybe it was a friend who said, “Come with us, you’ll love it.”
But one of my favorite things about The Garden Museum has become something I didn’t fully anticipate when I started it: the community that has grown around it.

I’ve had moms tell me they’ve made real friends through our public pop-ups. I’ve watched families arrive knowing no one and leave chatting, exchanging numbers, and making plans to meet again.

Some families even bring babies who are still way too little for most of our activities~ not because they expect them to play, but because it gives them somewhere intentional to go. A morning outside. A blanket in the grass. Other parents nearby. Older siblings playing. A reason to get out and be together.
And I love that 🤍

Because yes! We create beautiful spaces for children to play, but I think we’re also creating spaces for families to find each other.

Come for the play.
Stay for the people!

What brought you here? And what keeps you coming back?

🪼 Make a jellyfish with me! 🌈

This one is SO fun for all ages, and you probably already have everything you need at home!

🪼 Cut a paper plate or piece of cardboard into a semi-circle. We laser-cut ours, but cardboard works perfectly (and we use it ALL the time for activities at home!).

🪼 Poke holes along the bottom for your jellyfish legs.

🪼 Paint it in all the fun colors… the more rainbowy, the better! 🌈

🪼 Add your jelly legs and get threading!

✨ Pro tip: Shoelaces (even better, LACE or ribbon shoelaces) are perfect for this. The aglet- > the little plastic tip-> makes threading through the holes easy, and you can add a bead to the end without it slipping off.

A simple, colorful, hands-on activity that sneaks in a little fine-motor practice, too. 💕🪼

Save this one for your next rainy-day or summer afternoon activity!

We reached 4K followers overnight 🥹 so now seems like a good time for a re-introduction!

I’m Jessica, the founder of The Garden Museum~ welcome to my adventure!

As a mama of 2 with a flair for creative side quests, finding excuses to be outside, and daydreaming, I found myself building this up before I even knew what it was. I understood early on that parenting outside IS easier for all of us and often an instant mood booster✨ We love day trips, natural sensory play (pebbled beaches or just playing in dirt) and boy don’t get me started on the imaginary worlds my kiddos build together! 🧚

I’m a former teacher with an MA in education. I stepped out of the classroom with plans to fully commit myself to building up this dream of bringing more intentional play to my local community (& now surrounding communities), AND now to schools (yay!) which makes my teacher heart beyond happy. 🍎

My family is fully involved every step of the way, even if it brings more chaos into the house. My kiddos make the best product testers, my handy engineering husband helps visions come to life & then some. I like to say “I’m not a serious person” as I’m painting wooden peg people or testing out which car rolls down the ramp in the most “fun” way 🙃

Life is more fun with some whimsy in it. I love sharing that with you!

Thank you for being here 💛💛💛
