Quilling with Janet Watling and Social Media Tips
We are fortunate to have two speakers in November. Allie Lopiano-Hastey is the Social Media Manager for Livermore Valley Arts. She will be giving a short talk on ways to use social media.
This month's demo is by local award-winning artist Janet Watling who will be demonstrating a flower with color shading so folks can see the process of painting with paper. She will touch on basic quilling shapes and tools that she uses. Extra paper and tools will be on hand so people can try it out too.
About the artist
"I love playing with paper. Experimenting and learning new techniques has helped me to develop a unique style of quilling. I think of it as painting with paper.
Quilling allows me to turn my visions of colorful environments from a pile of paper strips into impressionistic, whimsical paintings or usable, wearable jewelry/art, and, in the process, hopefully, makes someone smile."
