The Elegant Haunting Addicted to all things Gothic, dark, eerie, decayed, and haunted. Some would say I am obsessed with Halloween. Or photograph. Or paint. My name is CJ Draper.

This is not strictly true; Halloween is simply a convenient stage on which to pull back the (red crushed velvet) curtains on my latest dalliances and oddities. It may have started when, as an impressionable ten-year-old, I finished reading every Agatha Christie novel and set my heart on learning French so I could, convincingly and airily, enunciate "Hercule Poirot." My lifelong obsession with old books borders on a disorder. The older the object, the worse the condition, the more stories it has to tell -- and stories are everything to me. The things people leave behind are, to this daydreamer, portals to a history. And histories that aren't written out to be read, I feel obliged to write. I have issues, and I adore them.

I'm very excited to be part of this event! June 2027 in Cripple Creek.

My morning habit most days here in Placencia. Lots of new plans brewing and I'll be home before the sun sets today to start setting them in motion.

Taking a moment to recharge. And then it's time to start conjuring some new spirits.

This spring I have fully dedicated myself to attempted murder. I can hear the crows out there conferring on my latest offerings (cashews, to be precise) and if I am interpreting correctly, they are leaning in my favor. I am eager to receive whatever shiny gifts they may bring in return, which I suppose makes this murder for profit.
