"Kindness, especially in times of tension, is an extremely important thing to share. Learning to share, be patient, be there for one another, and to give one another space are all skills that are extremely helpful to learn at a young age, all of which are shown throughout my Doodle."

Morgan Ison – an Arkansas Arts Center Museum School student – is the Arkansas finalist for this year’s Doodle for Google scholarship contest. Morgan recently graduated from the North Little Rock Center of Excellence and is beginning her college career at the University of Arkansas this fall.

Thank you, Ballet Arkansas! Students in Painting and Drawing Department Chair Robert Bean's Figure Drawing: Movement and Gesture class worked with dancers at Ballet Arkansas to capture movement and form.

We love cross-pollinating art forms at Ballet Arkansas and we love working with our friends at the Arkansas Arts Center Museum School to create exciting opportunities to blend visual and performance art, such as our recent collaboration with the Figure Drawing: Movement & Gesture class. We supplied the movement, the artists did the rest!

The Arkansas Arts Center has long been an artistic partner that’s willing to explore new territory with us. In fact our history goes way back! We look forward to work with them on a number of new initiatives in the years ahead. Stay tuned!

TOMORROW: Join us for a virtual conversation with Museum School instructor (and Delta artist) Joel Boyd!

Delta artist Joel Boyd’s painting, Blue House, Little Rock, is a portrait of a place – and one of many works he’s done exploring the overlooked and forgotten buildings of city landscapes. “This old blue house sits quietly displaying its weather worn features,” Boyd says, “like its faded blue paint and broken screen window. The frame of the building is buckling inwards the boards are falling off. This simple old building has such character and history. It's like the face of an old man, wrinkles and faded hair showing his age and experience.”

Join us tomorrow at noon for a Virtual Conversation with Joel Boyd. Register for the event at arkansasartscenter.org/delta.

I’m very proud of my son, Joel Boyd!
Is there a list of classes and cost available?
I am not seeing anything geared towards kids under 6. Am I missing something or is that correct?
I’m so excited and looking forward to teaching “Printing and Stitching” at the AAC Museum School this summer! We’ll practice relief printing, screen printing, and stencil printing on fabrics, and then we’ll use stitching as drawing to add images, patterns and textures to our work! No printing experience necessary. Register soon for this exciting mixed media class. 😄🙏❤️
Where is it located at?
We love Ms. Miranda in the My Adult & Me class!!!! Every weekend, it’s a fun time together we can look forward to! https://instagram.com/p/BomPf6qnHs0/
