🪡✨ What a day at Salt Creek Stitchery!

Today, eight stitchers spent the day learning the process of finishing round needlepoint ornaments—from the first cut to the final cording. Watching confidence grow with each step is one of my favorite parts of teaching.

This reel also captures the beautiful evolution of Salt Creek Stitchery in Fair Bluff, NC. It’s been such a joy to watch this shop grow into a welcoming space for stitchers to learn, create, and connect.

I didn’t manage to photograph every finished ornament, but I couldn’t be more proud of what these students accomplished. 💙

One of the things I love most about teaching is watching someone go from “I’m not sure I can do this” to proudly holding a finished piece in their hands.

Today’s Round Ornament Finishing Class at Salt Creek Stitchery was filled with learning, laughter, problem-solving, and plenty of beautiful stitching. Eight stitchers spent the day learning the finishing process from start to finish, and the results were fantastic.

This reel also highlights the transformation of Salt Creek Stitchery in Fair Bluff, NC. It’s been wonderful watching the shop grow and become such a special gathering place for needlepoint enthusiasts.

While I wasn’t able to capture photos of every participant’s finished ornament, I am incredibly proud of each person who took on the challenge and left with new skills and confidence.

Thank you to everyone who spent the day stitching and learning with me. I can’t wait for the next class! 🪡💙

🌊 Some of my favorite conversations have happened inside a needlepoint shop.

A shared love of stitching has a way of turning strangers into friends and customers into community.

As The Salty Stitchery Studio grows, it feels only natural to grow alongside the local shops that inspire, support, and connect stitchers every day.

I’m thankful for the opportunity to partner with Salt Creek Stitchery and North Myrtle Beach Needlepoint, making professional finishing a little more accessible while strengthening the community we all love.

Because the best part of needlepoint has never been just the finished piece—it’s the people along the way. 🤍🧵

🌊 Ebb & Flow

Spent the week making memories with my mom.

Came home to boxes, supplies, finishing projects, and a studio that looks like the tide came in and left everything behind.

The studio may be a mess, but the work is calling, and I’m excited to dive back in.

Here’s to finding the rhythm between rest and hustle… and maybe clearing off my worktable before supper. 😉

🎄❤️ A Stitching Story Thirty Years in the Making ❤️🎄

This piece hangs in my mother’s dining room year-round, and every time I see it, I’m reminded of where my love of needlework began.

I stitched this Santa nearly three decades ago, long before The Salty Stitchery Studio was ever a dream. Long before I learned needlepoint finishing, taught classes, or spent countless hours helping others bring their stitching projects to life.

What makes it special isn’t just the stitches.

It’s the story behind them.

My mother taught me to cross stitch when I was seven years old. What started as a simple craft became a lifelong love of creating with my hands. Through the years, I’ve explored different forms of needlework, but those early lessons sitting beside my mom laid the foundation for everything that followed.

Thirty years later, this Santa still hangs in her home. The colors are just as beautiful, the memories are just as vivid, and the piece continues to tell its story.

That’s one of the things I love most about needle arts. A stitched piece isn’t just decoration. It’s a record of time, patience, creativity, and the people who helped us learn along the way.

Long after the stitches are finished, the story continues.
