Hi folks, I’m excited to announce that tonight Artemisa Femmes will be at the season kick-off for Grand Performances 40th Anniversary Concert series! That’s 6pm tonight at California Plaza in downtown LA. is headlining and coming all this way from Puebla, Mexico! 😍 What an honor and a privilege to live our summers here in LA and have this kind of music come to us.

From : Cumbia legends Grupo Soñador will open the Grand Performances’ 40th season with a high-energy, multi-generational dance party. The band brings their Mexican-style, slowed-down, synth-heavy cumbia to Cal Plaza. LA-based cumbia band Wachiwara and DJ Turbo Sonidero will round out the night. Curated by misterpsychedelia.

Obsidian Pixiu pendant with a raw garnet as the cherry on the cake. Handcrafted in 950 silver here in LA by Guadalajara artisan, Armando. A true heirloom.

This week I’m in the mood to show off our custom pieces. And this was one of our first of the year. In a world where pieces are made to be tossed by the following season—and where workers are tossed just as easily—having a meaningful piece made for you that will last is incredibly gratifying and fulfilling.

That AI is inevitable is a lie. That fast fashion is inevitable and “creates jobs” is a lie and propaganda for systems that fail us and the earth.

Currently this Obsidian Pixiu pendant is on the other side of the globe with .glasses on his adventures. To me it’s satisfying to be engaged in a creation process that by current production standards does not make sense. *But* that acts as proof of how we can move through this world and how we can relate to the things that are most meaningful.

Imagine a piece like this being yours and wearing it at your chest. Imagine the feeling of wearing something created just for you. How can that feeling even be measured?

And now for a piece that’s available…the elegant Carlotta Blue Labradorite ring in sterling silver. We oxidized the silver for depth and studded the setting with mini gray accent diamonds. These are obviously *not* the diamonds of questionable origin people pay big money for—because they have inclusions, they are not white, and are teeny tiny. Rubies, emeralds, and sapphires are actually more rare but I find these perfect for some vintage charm. Especially to frame such a sparkly labradorite.

The Carlotta Blue Labradorite ring would make the perfect one-of-a-kind gift for a special someone. This stone isn’t associated with a specific birth month but I do think it’s a very Cancerian stone. I also think the ones with more blue hues are great for the Geminis and for calming/grounding the (quick and yappy) Gemini brain. ☺️ Labradorite can also act like a balancing antidote to Aries fire.

Orion Constellation Ring featuring 7 captivating fire opals in sterling silver. Represented are 7 of the stars that form Orion: Betelgeuse, Bellatrix, the Orion’s Belt 3 (Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka ), Saiph, and Rigel. Orion has more components—like the Orion Nebula and more stars—but decisions must be made. 🙂

The beauty of a custom piece is how we all rise to meet a vision. wanted Orion embodied in a ring and added two of my past creations to their custom ring vision board for reference. I picked each Opal and—except for Orion’s belt—we wanted them to each be different and for the size of each stone to make sense relationally.

We are very happy with how this first Orion Constellation ring came out and look forward to making more constellation rings. 👀

Vintage sterling silver braided Italian chain alert…😍 This is all you need. You could wear anything and the look would be greatly enchanted with this chain. I happen to think it also would look stunning paired with one of my gold vermeil chains. 👀

Rubies in our future. 😍 Sometimes folks say they don’t like their birthstone but they’ve only seen one version of the stone or cut or even the style the stone is set in.

Ruby is the July birthstone. I love the plummy jammy rubies that have an iridescence that moves as light hits from different angles. I like them to be just like this—polished but without facets so I can see their natural details.

This would make an eye-catching pendant or a bewitching statement ring!

Verna Chrysoprase pendant in sterling silver. Chrysoprase is one of my favorite green gemstones. So saturated but just a little bit of translucency. Then with these facets…💘 And in fact, it’s one ideal for caring at the heart. 🌻

Chrysoprase is a perfect gemstone for our Ta**us friends and we’ve just entered their season. Also perfect for all of us growing new things, cultivating new projects, sewing new intentions.
