ANNOUNCE

SPRING PLAY AUDITIONS

For more info, please visit our website: www.rcplayers.org or call or text Sharon at (816) 877-7114.

Audition nights are also perfect time to come out, meet the director, and express your interest in helping out backstage, be it in the role of a stage manager, lights & sound operator, concessions, or whatever else you might like to do.

They’re also GREAT for first-timers to come out and observe how things are done, maybe express interest in being a helper, or read for a part! We almost always cast at least one person who’s never been on stage before. You never know what can happen!

SYNOPSIS

Neil Simon’s revision of his hugely successful play, The Odd Couple, sees the lead characters transformed into Olive Madison and Florence Unger. Olive and their group of girlfriends are enjoying their weekly Trivial Pursuit night in Olive’s messy and ill-equipped apartment. As the game continues, Florence arrives, fresh from being dumped by her husband. Fearful that the neurotic Florence might attempt suicide, Olive invites her to move in as her roommate. However, Olive and Florence have VERY different personalities. Where Olive is messy, untidy, and unconcerned about the state of her apartment, Florence is obsessively clean, tidy, and obsessed with hygiene. Olive’s easy-going outlook on life soon clashes with Florence’s highly-strung neurotic tendencies, testing their friendship to the limit. When Olive organizes a double-date with the Costazuela brothers, their differences come to a head and sparks fly.

The cast features Sharon Propst as Olive Madison; Misti Mckenzie as Florence Unger; Lesa McDonald as Sylvie; Sheila Lee as Renee; Trina Ledford as Mickey; and Jan Henrickson as Vera; Rex Simmons as Monolo Costazuela and Ron Ruisinger, Jr as Jesus Costazuela.

Dinner theatre will be held all nights of the production, November 5-6, 2021 and November 12-13, 2021 beginning at 6:30 p.m. with curtain time for the show at 7:45 p.m. Dinner is catered by NADLER’S OF WELLINGTON, Inc. KMBC is reporting a nasty fatality accident involving a couple semis at I-70 near Odessa. If you are coming to Lexington for the Friday night show, best to get off I-70 at MO-291 or MO-7 and go north to US 24 Highway, then east to Lexington. I-70 will probably be a mess for several hours.
American Immersion Theater Spring Class Registration Hi my name is Eric Van Horn local director of American Immersion Theater and I am recruiting for AIT and the Kansas City Spring Class. AIT is one of the largest employers of actors across the country. There are troupes in 24 cities around the country providing entertainers for Murder Mystery shows, Princess/Superhero parties and Atmospheric theatre events. The area of coverage for the Kansas City troupe is Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Iowa, parts of Oklahoma, Illinois & Arkansas. We are looking for actors with stage or entertainment experience. Our Spring training class will start on April 14th. Paid performance opportunities will be offered year-round for those sub-contracted into the company. No troupe member is committed to any shows allowing you the freedom to pick and request shows your schedule will allow. From those troupe requests, actors are selected to fill the show requirement. Rehearsals are required. Last year we did nearly 300 shows and we are expecting to increase by 15% in 2019. Here is a link to a short film about us (http://www.ait.careers/) If you are interested in registering for our Spring class and possibly becoming part of AIT send me an e-mail (mailto:[email protected]). Please make sure to attach a resume and headshot. If you don't have stage or entertaining experience we will arrange for an audition time. Hi guys, my Mom and Dad (Ken and Linda Napier) were original members of RCP and I have fond memories of running around helping build sets and watching rehearsals. I am glad to see the group is still going strong.
