Historic Preservation Commission of Lexington Missouri

Historic Preservation Commission of Lexington Missouri The Lexington Historic Preservation Commission works to preserve the historical, cultural, and architectural heritage of our City for future generations.

In attempt to preserve and protect the historic property, city law states that property owners within the historical districts comply with certain requirements. These requirements are defined in the Historic Preservation Ordinance. Responsibility for monitoring compliance with that ordinance rests with the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC), a group of 7 local citizens appointed by the mayor.

The HPC meets on the third Monday evening of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the council chambers on the lower level of City Hall at 919 Franklin Ave. If you can't attend a meeting, please stop by City Hall during business hours. The Building Inspector can assist you with Certificate of Appropriateness Applications or correspondence with Preservation Commission members.

Join us! What a special opportunity to hear George Stier's story from his son. We are so grateful to George for agreeing to do our program.

More progress on Main Street! It's wonderful to see these buildings being saved by Jeff and Michelle Simpson.
