PART 2: Thanks for joining us for the rest of Chapter 2 of 'I'll Have What She's Having' as we close out the week. In this chapter, Chloe confronts some unspoken doubts about herself and her identity..during Dea's birthday brunch.

Take a moment this weekend to reflect on any dreams or ideas for your future that were set aside or never came to be and consider how they shaped the life you live today. Along with the book, check out this week’s recurring podcast episode,
What if the Dream Isn’t Dead?", and the accompanying blog post, 'Grieving the Life I Thought I’d Had'. These resources are available at drdwanbryant.com and on our channels.

In This Blog Post:

This is also something I think about when I think about 'I’ll Have What She’s Having' and the kind of sisterhood I wanted that story to represent.

There is something beautiful about women showing up for other women. We need each other. We need women who will celebrate with us, sit with us when life hurts, tell us the truth, pray for us, encourage us, and sometimes help us carry something that has become too heavy.

But healthy sisterhood doesn't require one woman to carry another woman's life.

Sometimes the most loving thing we can do is help our sister recognize that she is strong enough to carry what belongs to her.

We can walk beside her without walking for her.

Check out part two of 'What if the Dream Isn't Dead,' where Dr. Dwan explores the importance of carrying childhood dreams into adulthood, the effect this has on many women, and how to handle dreams that have been lost or hidden away.

In the related blog post titled "Grieving the Life I Thought I'd Have," Dr. Dwan Bryant shares, "There were many times when I started down the path of becoming a speaker, only to get pulled back into a job because I needed to support myself. And if I'm truthful, I grieved not being able to finally become the woman I knew I was supposed to be. People would prophesy things over my life that I already knew somewhere deep inside. Yet I was still trying to figure out how to get there. Have you ever been there? You can see glimpses of the woman you're supposed to become, but you can't quite figure out how to reach her."

Welcome to October, a month of rewiring our thinking. In this episode of TOC Talk: Table of Confidence, Dr. Dwan Bryant gets personal about the dreams she carried as a little girl, the opportunities she didn't always have the confidence to pursue, and the woman she once grieved because she thought she should have become her much sooner.

This isn't a conversation about living in regret. It's an invitation to look back with grace and ask a different question: Is this something I need to release—or is this something God may be inviting me to revisit?

You may need to grieve the timeline without burying the calling. This conversation began with the blog Grieving the Life I Thought I'd Have, part of the Healing the Woman Behind the Title series.

The blog goes deeper into grief, disappointment, missed opportunities, and learning to honor the woman you thought you'd become without allowing her to keep you from discovering the woman you can still become. Visit DrDwanBryant.com and pull up a chair at the blog.
