Hey! Sorry for the radio silence, life has been hectic as of late, so here are my June and July projects in quick review!

My workplace had a figure decorating contest for Pride. I covered him in markered pride flags, tried to seal it by painting modge podge on over it (mistake, regret) and crocheted an intersex-inclusive progress pride flag with embroidery floss without a pattern. I would change everything if I did it again.

Also for work I crocheted my first ever potholders for the break room. I was tired of burning myself on dishes from the microwave. It's also my first time embroidering writing onto crochet. Room for improvement, but I like it.

I'm also honing my original pattern for a trading card deck box with a feature window! This one is themed for my Thantis, the Warweaver Jund Spider Tribal Magic: the Gathering Commander deck. I want to put one of the hard plastic collector's sleeves in the front window to hold the feature card in position and to protect the card, but this prototype isn't quite tall enough. I will correct it in the next one.

I also created an original design for a sliding pencil case! This one is for my sister's Cricut tools. I had to redo the top to make it a touch wider so that the sides laid correctly, but I am very happy with how it turned out!

Hopefully I will update again sooner as some of the life stuff levels out! Until then, happy crafting!

Finally, after much deliberation, procrastination, and frustration, I have designed my new logo!

It's been forever since I have drawn a completed item, and I am still super new to digital art.

I finally finished the baby blanket! Onto the next adventure!

Blanket Update #3!!!!!! OMG, I am the White Rabbit, because I am so very late! Baby boy is here, and the blanket is only half done! But what you see on the table is one whole jumbo skein of yarn in blanket form, with the second skein for comparison. To celebrate this milestone, I made a little brontosaurus! Isn't he cute? My little camouflage forest is starting to have a population! Hopefully now that I have half of it behind me, the rest will come easy. I've got to get this done and shipped ASAP!

Dino Blanket, 2nd Update:

Hi, yes, I'm still working on this. I had a couple of false starts, but that's to be expected while learning a new stitch. Here is the blanket so far and dino #2, the triceratops! So cute. I hope to post more often in the upcoming days! Stay tuned!

Sorry I haven't been updating much. I've been trying to get my workspace in order, and been working on the baby blanket only intermittently. Once I have a space to take a good picture, I'll make a progress update.

Dino Blanket: 1st Update

So, I made my first applique, following this pattern:

It worked up so quickly! Very easy and clear pattern.
I realized that I don't really know how many dinos I will need, given the size of the blanket, so I have started to make the blanket itself.

So, my current project is a baby blanket for friends who are expecting a baby boy in a month or so. I asked what colors they wanted, and was asked if camouflage was too difficult.

Lucky for me, Red Heart makes a camo variegated yarn that I already love!

And then I saw that a lot of their baby registry is dinosaur themed, so I have decided to add little dino appliques in Red Heart Aran, a nice, complementary off white. I figured that I would keep it neutral to balance out the business of the camo.
