We had high hopes for this one.

The menu looked incredible. The food itself? Honestly, not bad.

But sometimes the experience matters just as much as the plate.

This week Rocco and Pearl headed to Roanoke, VA for a spot we really wanted to love… and let’s just say things didn’t quite go as planned.

Can a view make food taste better?

For our first stop, we headed to The Overlook Restaurant at Hawks Nest to find out.

The view was incredible, the Bloody Mary was excellent, and both sandwiches earned what we call a second visit.
