756 Productions llc We make records and capture sonics....it's kinda magical

I’ve decided to shelve the Classics vs Classics covers comp for the foreseeable future. Absolutely love the project but it’s A TON of work (well over a hundred hours) to put them together.

SO

Sticking with the “VS” theme I will be doing a series of split comps of original music. 2 bands 1 song each.
VOL 1 will be “
80HD VS The Maisons

Any bands that want to be on one of these records please contact me. Like the covers comp these do not cost the bands anything and I take care of all the production, promo, release etc. and if you have another band in mind that you want to VS, get them involved

DAY 26
I’m not a big drinker. So you’ll never find me drinking during a session…….unless the Shipwrecks decide to make a stop by the studio. Then debauchery ensues. We must have drank 3 cases during this session and I don’t really remember doing the gang vocals. But somehow through all the haze came a pretty solid song.

DAY 23
So the whole idea behind Classics vs Classics is for a band to do 2 classic cover songs. 1 song within their genre. 1 song outside of their genre. The “outside genre” songs have been some of the most fun I’ve ever had producing music. This cover of “Drive” by The Cars done by Black Suit Youth is the perfect example. It was such an eye opener learning the ins and outs of this song and how well crafted it was. They did a great job on this one.

DAY 20
Reason Enough NYHC, the boys from Staten Island (along with Jerry Ex) came in and did a hardcore version of Rockwell’s 1984 hit “Somebody’s watching me”. This is exactly why I chose to include an “out of genre” songs on these comps. It’s wild what they made the song into.

DAY 20
Early 2018 my friend Lou made a post……something about wanting to do a punk cover comp with a bunch of bands. I kind of jacked his idea, put a little twist on it and came out with Classics vs Classics concept. 2 classic cover songs per band, 1 song in genre, 1 song out of genre. After seeing The Ice Cold Killers I quickly made them the first band to sign on.

DAY 19
Todays song is brought to you by the now defunct The Avoiders. John Browne delivers what may be the most perfect sung line I’ve ever recorded. It’s the first line in the 3rd verse.”If you’re out on a moonlit night”. Something about it is perfect to my ear. Go check it out.
