Allyson Abbas- Miss Leon Iowa Rodeo 2022

365 days, 42 rodeos, 4 states, 2 finals rodeos and a year full of new lifelong friendships and memories. Last night I handed off my title as Miss Leon during the first night of the Leon Iowa Rodeo. This year has been so fulfilling in this new venture and I can’t wait to see where my the lord leads going forward.

I can’t even to begin to of all the thank you I wish upon my support group! My family and friends who have drove countless hours, the queens I have met along the way that shaped to be who I am today, the mentors that have blessed me with a year full of knowledge, the numerous cowboys and cowgirls that have lended me horses during my year to travel with, the amazing rodeo companies who have been so welcoming during my journey and so many more to thank as well.

Congratulations to the new Miss Leon, IA Sarah Frisbe and Princess Emily Polsdofer! I can’t wait to see where this year leads y’all.

Old Glory

The flag we proudly stand for while it enters in the arena. The flag that symbolizes our freedom and our amazing country I am proud to live in today. Men and women fight to protect our freedom and us daily. Fights to protect that flag that gracefully waves to us in the wind.

Today we remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice fighting for our country from around the world to our own US soils. Those soldiers who we didn’t get to shake their hand, say a thank you to, or even know - however gracefully fought for all of us.

Extended education is such a blessing and I am so thankful to have the opportunity around me.

As I am currently attending Iowa State University studying Animal Science and AgBusiness, extending my knowledge in all areas of Entrepreneurship to Equine Science has been so fulfilling. Today I had the pleasure participating in trimming some mares at the ISU Horse Barn along side farrier Rob Zaabel.

I learned so much today working with him and my biggest take away from today is I definitely don’t have as strong as legs for this career! Talk about a leg burner. So appreciative of my farrier after this morning!

What an AMAZING weekend!

I am so blessed to have had such a blessed weekend at the Iowa Horse Fair! The weekend was filled with autograph signing around the fair and at Boot Barn with some sash sisters. I also volunteered as an announcer for some clinicians, took over the instagram story for Past the Sash, and met up with some sponsors!

I ended both nights carrying flags for Rogue Rodeo and pushing stock for both slack and performance. Rouge did an AMAZING job with their show and congratulations on selling on the Jacobson. Talk about the energy level both nights! I was so blessed to have my mound, Red, to give me his whole heart both long nights!

Excited for the rodeos ahead!

I’m so excited to be there this weekend during the Iowa Horse Fair visiting with the public, seeing some sponsors and signing autographs at 2 LOCATIONS!

See me at the Iowa Horse Council Booth AND at the West Des Monies Boot Barn. I will also be running flags both nights of Rogue Rodeo’s performances!
