Miss Czech-Slovak Illinois The Miss Czech-Slovak Illinois queens are crowned by UMS, for the National pageant in Wilber Nebraska

The Miss Czech-Slovak Illinois page celebrates young women who promote their Czech, Moravian and Slovak heritage. The Illinois state pageant is sponsored by our parent organization, United Moravian Societies. UMS has a long history of supporting young women to promote their culture through events and dancing in traditional costumes of their ancestors. Since the 1940s and 1950s United Moravian Soci

eties has named a young woman to be Kralovna UMS. This page will celebrate that history and also share information related to the National Miss Czech & Slovak pageant that is held every August, in Wilber Nebraska.

Day 2 of the Miss Czech Slovak US Pageant was as exciting as the first day! Klara performed her talent: an oratory poetry reading in the Czech language and then her translated English version, of a poem written by Jaroslav Seifert. She really showed her creative heart!

Congratulations to all of the contestants, you are all true cultural embassadors for your state!

Day 1 of the Miss Czech Slovak US Pageant is completed and we are on to Day 2! A great group of young ladies are competing for the national title. Our Miss Czech-Slovak Illinois Queen Klara Sebestik had a full day of introductions at the band stand, private interview, parade, meeting her Little Sister, on stage interview, kroj modeling and photos, photos, photos! And she did it all with a smile in this Nebraska heat! 🌞

Can't wait to see all of the girls in the talent show tonight. The crowning of the new Miss Czech Slovak US national Queen and royal court will take place tonight! 👑

Good luck to our Miss Czech Slovak Illinois Queen Klara Sebestik as she competes this weekend in the national Miss Czech Slovak US Pageant in Wilber Nebraska. All of the girls competing have worked hard to prepare for this moment. Now is the time to enjoy it.
