18 letters went out in the mail yesterday! šŸ’Œ

Some are receiving their very first letter, Connection, where we explore what happens when we disconnect from the digital noise and distractions of the world and make room for what matters most.

Others are receiving their second letter, Gratitude. There’s a saying that we are only as happy as we are grateful. Well, I decided to put that to the test, and I’m sharing what I discovered. šŸ¤

Two different letters, two beautiful reminders to slow down, look around, and reconnect with what truly matters.

It’s such a joy to send a little encouragement through the mail, one envelope at a time.

With love,
Jackie šŸ’Œ

Hi My Dear Friends šŸ¤

I thought it was time to reintroduce myself since there are so many new faces here!

I’m Jackie, the heart and hands behind To My Dear Friend. šŸ’Œ

You probably haven’t seen my face much around here, and I’ll let you in on a little secret…I have braces! šŸ˜‚ But only TWO more weeks until they come off! So maybe you’ll be seeing a little more of me soon!

I’m a wife, a mother to five little boys (yes, FIVE!), and someone who believes deeply in the power of human connection.

So, what exactly is To My Dear Friend?

It’s a monthly snail mail letter created especially for Latter-day Saint women.

Each month, a beautifully packaged letter arrives in your mailbox, filled with heartfelt encouragement, faith, thoughtful little keepsakes, and simple reminders of what matters most.

Why did I create it?

Because somewhere along the way, in this fast-paced, noisy, digitally connected world, I think we’ve lost a little of what it means to truly connect.

We scroll, we compare, we rush, and sometimes, even surrounded by people, we can feel terribly alone.

I wanted to bring back something simple. Something personal. Something you can hold in your hands, sit down with, and enjoy without a screen demanding your attention.

A letter that’s coming from your friend.

A reminder that you’re seen, you’re loved, you matter, and you’re never truly alone.

My hope is that each letter invites you to slow down, and draw closer to your Savior.

That’s why my little motto is:

Disconnect to reconnect. šŸ¤

What started as a simple idea has become something incredibly meaningful to me, and I’m so grateful you’re here.

Whether you’ve been following from the beginning or just found this little corner of the internet, welcome, dear friend.

I’m so glad you’re here.

With love,
Jackie šŸ’Œ

I’m standing in the lake, feeling the rippled sand beneath my feet and the gentle waves washing over me, I couldn’t help but reflect on life.

The waves reminded me of the trials and struggles we face. Some are small, while others feel overwhelming.

As I stood there, I thought again about Sister Tamara W. Runia’s words and the importance of building a firm foundation in Jesus Christ.

It is true. We cannot build our foundation upon the sand. Even the tiniest waves caused the sand beneath my feet to shift, pushing me to and fro.

How often does life feel this way?

May we continue to reach for Him and build our foundation upon Jesus Christ. For when the waves of life come crashing in, He is our sure foundation.

He is the way, the truth, and the life. šŸ¤

Letter No. 2 is all about gratitude—finding beauty in the ordinary, recognizing the blessings we sometimes overlook, and remembering that there is always something to be thankful for.

One letter at a time. One heart at a time. šŸ’Œ

Mail day. šŸ’Œ

I love seeing all the different letters lined up and realizing that every envelope is going to a real woman somewhere.

Some are receiving their very first letter—Connection. Others are already opening letter four—Slow Down. And there are a few themes in between. šŸ¤Ž

No matter when you join, everyone begins with letter one and receives the letters in order, one month at a time.

There’s something really special about knowing that these little envelopes are making their way into mailboxes. 🄹

Disconnect to reconnect.

Got my work cut out for me over here. šŸ¤ŽšŸ“¬ Good thing it’s General Conference weekend—there’s no better time to sit, listen, and get all these letters ready to send to you.

Tell me—who has given your favorite talk so far? I’d love to hear what has stood out to you. šŸ¤šŸŒ²

What was your favorite talk from this last session of General Conference? šŸ¤

Mine was Sister Tamara W. Runia’s.

I loved the reminder that painful experiences are not necessarily evidence that God has abandoned us. Instead, God can use the difficult, stretching parts of mortality to shape us, refine us, and help us become more like Jesus Christ.

Sometimes the very experiences we wish we could take away are the ones God can use to sculpt our souls. šŸ¤
