🎨🐉 VAGABOND WORKSHOP UPDATE — THE MADNESS CONTINUES! 😂

Another day, another mountain of ceramic molds! And apparently, I’ve decided that sleep is overrated this week! 🤣☕️

This morning started with another big batch of pouring before heading out to take the grandbaby to her appointment. Now we’re back home, and all those molds you see in the picture are sitting there patiently waiting for me to open them up!

Well… maybe not so patiently! 😂 If you’ve been following along, you know these molds can’t sit around forever once they’re poured!

🔥 The kiln has been fired and unloaded, and now it’s time for a batch of customer pieces to go in and get their turn in the heat!

Meanwhile, the shelves are filling up with all kinds of ceramic goodies! We’ve got pumpkins, Christmas pieces, adorable little critters, and SO much more!

🐉 AND GUESS WHAT?! I found a couple MORE dragons, and they got poured today too! Apparently, we’re building a whole dragon kingdom over here! 😂

🧚‍♀️ On tomorrow’s pouring agenda? FAIRY HOUSES!! 🏡✨

We pulled out the fairy house collection along with a few other fun little treasures — frogs 🐸, ducks 🦆, little penguins 🐧, and whatever else catches my eye between now and then!

It’s looking like another late night in the workshop for this Art Vagabond, but there’s a reason behind all this craziness…

⏰ WORKSHOP AFTER DARK — ROUND TWO!

If you followed yesterday’s adventures, you know I spent almost 15 HOURS in this workshop and finally escaped at 10:45 PM!

Well, here we go again! 🤣

Another mountain of molds to open, customer pieces to get into the kiln, and Saturday’s LIVE sale getting closer by the minute!

My AI sidekick Artie has officially predicted that I’ll make it to bed at 11:38 PM tonight! 😂

Personally, I think Artie might be a little optimistic! Especially since I have a terrible habit of finding just ONE more thing that needs to be done before I turn out the lights!

🤣 SO LET’S PLAY A LITTLE GAME!

🐉🔥 VAGABOND WORKSHOP UPDATE: DRAGONS 3 — KARYN 1! 🤣

🎉 10:45 PM AND I’M DONE!!

Well, for tonight anyway! 😂

Remember when I said I was hoping to finish by 11 PM but midnight was probably more realistic?

I MADE IT!! 🙌

After 14 hours and 45 minutes in the workshop today, this girl is officially calling it quits!

✅ Kiln is FULL of cleaned greenware and firing away!

✅ Two shelves are already filled back up with pieces I poured today!

✅ About 30 molds poured in two batches!

✅ One exhausted Art Vagabond ready for a shower, bed, and maybe a little snack first! 🤣

BUT… let’s talk about those DRAGONS! 🐉🐉🐉🐉

Because apparently today was NOT my day to become the Mother of Dragons! 😂

🐉 Dragon #1: Beautifully poured! Got him out of the mold and promptly DROPPED THE AIR HOSE ON HIM! 😭 Crushed him! Straight to the reclaim bucket. Nothing quite like watching hours of your hard work get destroyed… BY YOU!

🐉 Dragon #2: Well, apparently his mold has THREE pour holes. Guess who only found two? 🙋‍♀️ Yep! Poor guy came out without his feet! BOO! Another one for the reclaim bucket!

🐉 Dragon #3: THE BIG GUY! And when I say big, I mean BIG! 😍 This guy is absolutely spectacular! Unfortunately, he collapsed on me while I was trying to remove him from the mold. And wouldn’t you know it… HE WAS MISSING HIS BACK FEET ANYWAY! 🤦‍♀️

So tomorrow, after dropping the grandbaby off at school, I’ll be heading to the storage unit on a mission to find those missing feet!

I’m not giving up on this guy! He’s just too cool!

Although… he may actually be TOO BIG for my kiln! 😰 I might be able to bisque fire him, but glaze firing could be another story. Looks like I need to get serious about converting that bigger kiln over to electric! Until then, he may have to be an acrylic-painted dragon!

🐉 Dragon #4: THE WINNER!! 🏆

At first I thought this poor little fellow was missing half his face!

NOPE! 🤣

Turns out he doesn’t actually HAVE that side of his face showing because it’s smooshed up against the GIANT COOKIE he’s sandwiched between… WHICH HE’S LICKING! 🍪😂

I can’t even make this stuff up!

So the final score for today’s dragon adventures…

DRAGONS: 3 🐉🐉🐉

KARYN: 1 🙋‍♀️

But here’s the thing about pouring ceramic molds, especially ones you’ve never poured before…

Every mold has its own little quirks. Some are easy. Some are tricky. And some apparently require a sacrifice to the reclaim bucket before they’ll cooperate! 🤣

You learn something with every pour, every mistake, and every success.

And if there’s one thing you should know about me by now…

I DON’T GIVE UP EASY! 💪❤️

So tomorrow, WE TRY AGAIN!

These dragons WILL make their way into my upcoming Facebook Live Ceramic Sales… even if I have to battle every single one of them first! 😂🐉

For now, I’m off to wash away 14¾ hours of clay dust, find myself a snack, and crawl into bed!

🎨🐉 VAGABOND WORKSHOP CHRONICLES: Send Coffee… and Maybe Reinforcements! ☕😂

Well, today started off with a bang! Or maybe a little confusion. 🤦‍♀️🤣

Took the grandbaby to school this morning… only to discover there was NO SCHOOL TODAY! Apparently, checking the school calendar would’ve been a brilliant idea. Who knew?! 😂

So, back home we went, and I headed straight into the workshop!

⏰ 8:15 AM — Let the ceramic madness begin!

I’ve been out here ALL DAY pouring molds, opening molds, and cleaning greenware.

And if you’ve followed me for a while, you already know how much I LOVE cleaning greenware…

SAID NO KARYN EVER!!! 🤣🤣

So far today:
🎨 Poured approximately 30 molds in two batches!

🧽 Cleaned greenware between pours.

🍽️ Took a whopping 20-minute dinner break (thank goodness my son cooked!).

💪 And now I’m right back at it!

Here’s the thing about pouring this many ceramic molds…

Once you start, you’re COMMITTED! 😂

You can’t just decide you’re tired and go to bed. Nope! Those molds have to be opened within a certain window, or your beautiful new pieces can start cracking.

So guess who’s probably going to be out here until MIDNIGHT?! 🙋‍♀️

I’m hoping for 11 PM… but let’s be realistic here. 🤣

And I STILL have a couple of shelves of greenware waiting to be cleaned before I can load the kiln and get another firing started tonight!

🔥 WHY ALL THE MADNESS?

Because I’m working my little tail off getting LOTS of new ceramic goodies ready for SATURDAY’S FACEBOOK LIVE CERAMIC SALE! 🛍️🎨

And this is pretty much what my next two days are going to look like. Pour, clean, fire, repeat!

🐉🐉🐉 BUT WAIT!!! HERE’S THE EXCITING PART!!!

Remember those NEW DRAGON MOLDS from our big mold haul?!

I POURED THEM TODAY!!! 🎉🐉

I’ve been dying to get to these, and I know several of you have been patiently waiting for them too!

They didn’t get poured until about 3:30 this afternoon, which means I can’t even start opening them until around 9:30 TONIGHT!

And you better believe I’m going to be standing there like a kid on Christmas morning waiting to see how they turned out! 🤣❤️

Oh! And I’ve been attempting to make some behind-the-scenes videos while I work.

Let’s just say… my ceramic skills are a WHOLE lot better than my videographer skills! 🎥😂

Not entirely sure today’s footage is going to make the cut, but hey, I’m learning!

Did some slip casting this morning (with the little bit of slip I have left) and just came out to open them up.
Can you guess what those little feet go to??

I was so excited when we found the mold for the feet this past weekend while we were at the storage 🤗 So of course I had to get them poured - since the little creatures the feet go to have been patiently waiting for them
