Come join us for a screening of THE LAST LAUGH and Q&A with Jonathan Everett and Courtney Holly as they talk about their new project LIBRA!
Tuesday May 23, 2023 8:30 PM Eastern Time

Jonathan Everett:
Jonathan primarily works as a screenwriter and director, but he started his film career in front of the camera as an actor. Since then, he’s worked on dozens of film and TV projects, acting in feature films like “What’s the Matter with Gerald?” and alongside industry icons like Terry Kiser (of “Weekend at Bernie’s” fame) and the late, great Tiny Lister. As a director, Jonathan specializes in horror and psychological thrillers, directing nine films since moving behind the lens. “Libra,” currently in pre-production, will be his tenth and final short film before setting his sights on features. With Courtney Holly, he co-hosts “The Sights + Sounds” podcast, offering a perspective on filmmaking and artistic endeavors that’s aimed at exploring the growing phases (and growing pains) of a creative career. When Jonathan’s not actively working on a film, you can still find him with a camera in hand, snapping creative portraits as a still photographer.

Courtney Holly:
Courtney graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point in 2015 with a BFA in Acting, establishing herself in Nashville, TN later that year. Classically disciplined in the theatre, Courtney has trained in master classes led by industry giants like Audra McDonald, Mandy Patinkin, Patti Lupone and so many more. To her surprise, Courtney quickly found herself falling in love with the film community in Nashville, and thus began her escapade in cinema! She works predominantly as an actress and voiceover artist, working on many films, as well as voice work for clients like the Army National Guard & Hyundai USA, and dozens of audiobooks and audio dramas. Courtney also has an eye for SFX and Makeup – if there’s a need for horror makeup or movie monsters, she’s your girl! She met Jonathan Everett on “The Last Laugh,” where she played Harley Quinn and handled hair, makeup, and SFX, and the two have gone on to be cinematic partners in crime, most recently giving back to the film industry by co-hosting “the Sights + Sounds Podcast.” When not on set or recording, Courtney can be found immersing herself in nature, video games, and giving her dog Tessa an obscene amount of snuggles. Oh, and the quickest way to her heart? A bowl of queso!

The Artistic Fuel Film Fund – Speaker Series continues with “The Process of Storyboarding” with Michael Bayouth. Come join us on April 14th at 7pm (US Eastern).

Michael Bayouth is an artist, writer, and director. And, you can visualize what he writes because he’s also a Union Storyboard Artist. He’s known for his storyboarding of tricky sequences for movies and series TV, such as HULU’s Books of Blood, The Orville, Salem, and Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty on HBO. Directors such as Nick Copus, Joe Dante, and Brannon Braga, have all trusted him with their most crucial sequences – and in some cases even had him conceptualize and re-invent broken or unscripted scenes. Doing Doc Ock’s te****le test shots on Spider-Man 2 with Sam Raimi, Steve Johnson and John Dykstra helped hone his knowledge of practical effects while his experience as a movie poster art director, working for the majors, such as Disney and Universal, add a unique marketing ability to his quill. Michael runs Indigo Bay, an award-winning multi-media company and his experience comes from working with such clients as Disney, Universal, HBO, FOX, and Marvel.

A storyboard is a graphic representation of how your video will unfold, shot by shot. It’s made up of a number of squares with illustrations or pictures representing each shot, with notes about what’s going on in the scene and what’s being said in the script during that shot.

Come join us on Sunday 05-MARCH-2023 at 1pm US EASTERN and meet Adam William Cahill, the director of FOLLOW THE DEAD.
Adam William Cahill was born in London to an Irish mother, Mary (Breen), a secretary, and English father, Tom Cahill, a security operative and union rep for Royal Mail. His parents divorced when he was five years old, at which point his mother took him and his younger brother, Brian, back to her hometown of Dublin, where they’ve lived ever since.

Adam had always been a creative person and longed to be a performer from a young age. He began to sing as soon as he could speak, and loved to perform for audiences from as early as six years of age in karaoke bars and in his school choir. He also took part in school plays and went to drama classes. He had never been much of a reader, but having become enamoured with Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy, he felt compelled to read Tolkien’s novels. This galvanised not only Adam’s love for the fantasy genre, but a desire to take up creative writing.

Upon leaving school, without a sense of direction, he worked a myriad of retail jobs, and at points even found himself in management. However, after years of feeling unfulfilled through lack of creative expression, he eventually left the industry to develop his skills as a video editor, working for an alternative media group creating short documentaries. He would eventually use these documentaries in his college application portfolio, and as a result he was deemed eligible to skip the first year of a Media and Communications course.

FOLLOW THE DEAD: As viral videos seem to evidence the fall of Dublin at the hands of the undead, four Millennials in rural Ireland can’t discern fake news from real. Has a dependent lifestyle left them too naive to weather their fate?

Please watch FOLLOW THE DEAD before the Q&A. The film is available for rent on Amazon Prime.

Prior to the screening will be a panel discussion led by Cynthia Young of The American Arts Therapy Association with speakers from Virginia Tech, Parkland, Florida and the producers of MASS, Dylan Matlock and JP Ouellette.

Join us from 6:00-7:15 PM for a variety of art wellness activities for children and adults, live music and food trucks.

** Due to the difficult content presented by the panel and in the movie, we would suggest that families with young children do not attend the later portion of the event but welcome their participation during the arts activities. **

Panel Discussion begins at 7:15 PM EST. The film to follow the panel.
