A little Halloween magic in black, gray and cream 🎃🖤

I took six of my existing patterns and gave them a completely different mood with a new Halloween colorway.

I love seeing how much a pattern can change simply by changing the palette. The artwork stays the same, but suddenly the feeling is entirely different.

What happens when a surface pattern leaves the screen and becomes something real?

I took one of my favorite patterns from my Where the River Bends collection and imagined it in three different applications: bedding, a tote, and gift wrap.

I love seeing how the same artwork can take on a completely different feeling depending on where it lands.

This is one of my favorite parts of surface pattern design – imagining the possibilities beyond the original painting.

It’s finally time to share the whole collection!

Introducing “Where the River Bends” – a Yellowstone-inspired surface pattern collection born from a fall journey through one of my favorite places.

Crisp, autumn air, winding rivers, wildlife, evergreens, and the quiet beauty of the landscape all found their way into these watercolor paintings and patterns.

What began with sketches and painted moments has grown into 10 coordinating surface patterns, each inspired by something I noticed and loved along the way.

I’m so excited to finally share the finished collection with you 🤎

A couple of little fall leaf paintings…🍂

I love seeing what happens when a watercolor painting takes on a whole new life as a repeating pattern.

From paint on paper to motif in illustrator to a finished surface pattern – I love this process!

And I have a feeling these little leaves may be showing up again in my autumn collection…
