Hi, I'm Lynnea, a Utah-based watercolor artist and surface pattern designer creating hand-painted, nature-inspired patterns for licensing, fabric, and home goods.

From sketchbook ideas to watercolor paintings 🍎

Today’s painting session focused on the beginnings of motifs for a new surface pattern collection.

I’m excited to share more soon 🎨

From watercolor painting to finished products🌻

This sunflower collection began with hand-painted watercolor florals before being transformed into a seamless repeating pattern and applied across a variety of products including textiles, stationery, home decor, and accessories.

One of my favorite parts of surface pattern design is exploring how a single pattern can adapt across different applications while still maintaining a cohesive story.

Created with licensing and product collections in mind.

Father’s Day is coming up and I wanted to create gifts and cards that feel both meaningful and artistic 🐟

This collection features my original watercolor fish paintings on greeting cards, double-sided gift wrap, and a 16 ounce insulated tumbler.

Each greeting card is printed from my artwork and then individually hand embellished by me with metallic watercolor paint, making every card slightly unique.

Perfect for dads, grandpas, husbands, sons, or anyone who loves fishing and the outdoors.

You can find everything in my Etsy shop – lilacheather.etsy.com

Three years of growth.

The pattern on the left was my very first surface pattern design. The one on the right was created just last month.

Looking back, I can see not only how much my technical skills have grown, but also how much more confident I’ve become in telling a visual story through pattern, color, and detail.

It’s a good reminder that growth in art rarely happens all at once – it comes through creating again and again and again.

I’m excited to continue developing collections for fabric, home decor, stationery, and other licensed products 🤍

This Keepsake Quilt design began with individual watercolor paintings and ink sketches, inspired by the charm of vintage quilts and the stories they hold. I then brought each piece into Adobe Illustrator to refine and arrange three coordinating patterns into a cohesive, quilt inspired layout.

I love creating designs that feel nostalgic, detailed, and versatile – something that can live beautifully on products like textiles, bags, and home goods.

Available for licensing 🤍

A surface pattern collection, designed from my watercolor paintings, inspired by quiet days by the water, told in two color ways.

This collection was designed with versatility in mind and would translate beautifully across fabric, home goods, and paper products.

Available for licensing.

Mother’s Day is the perfect time to get something beautiful AND meaningful.

I’ve taken my original watercolor artwork and turned it into everyday items – 40 ounce tumblers, tea towels, phone cases, and mugs – each one designed to add a little joy to her daily routine.

With four patterns to choose from (Daisy, Strawberry, Sunflower, and Heart), you can find something that feels just right for the women you love 🤍

You can shop them all in my Etsy store lilacheather.etsy.com

Lake House Memories

This collection was inspired by the quiet, meaningful moments that happen by the water – early mornings, soft breezes, and the kind of memories that stay with you long after you leave.

These patterns began as watercolor paintings, and together they tell a story of calm, connection, and time spent at the lake.

I’m so happy to finally share the full collection with you 🩵

Which one is your favorite?

Mother’s Day is a chance to slow down and celebrate the women who mean so much to us 🤍

I’ve taken some of my original watercolor artwork and turned it into 40 ounce insulated tumblers – something both beautiful AND practical for everyday life.

If you’re looking for a thoughtful gift she’ll actually use and enjoy, you can find them in my Etsy shop -
