Lawrence Women's Temple

Lawrence Women's Temple In order to live and embody feminine brilliance we are creating a conscious women’s culture which can awaken and nourish us in the deepest sense.

The Lawrence Women’s Temple group is a way for us to remind each other of who we are. Born from a desire to connect with other women in a deep and meaningful way so to cultivate the Divine Feminine within community and in ourselves, the Lawrence Women's Temple has been formed. Currently, we are a small, closed group and Lawrence Women's Temple meetings are held on the first and third Sunday of the

month, in the afternoon. In the fall of 2015, we will hold an open Invitation and Introduction day for those who would like to join us. This group is designed after Chameli Ardagh's Women's Temple in Nevada City, CA. We will be using formats for temple meetings based on the Temple Manual used by Awakening Women. A Taste of Temple Group Practices:
~Entering deeper into our divine female bodies, our hips, yonis and breasts, through dance, stretching, free flow of movement. Becoming one body of female divine essence through touch, dance and movement and spontaneous flow of the moment. This practice is to open our bodies to more of the divine feminine energy and receive nourishment from each other, strengthening, relaxing, healing and filling up our own cups (bodies).

~Seeing deeply into each other, seeing each woman’s beauty, gifts, most true expression, essence, soul colors and loving each flavor of the divine feminine. Sharing what we see in each woman.

~Pleasure as a way to presence. Women are made for pleasure and we enjoy that through feeding each other strawberries, smelling incredible flowers, rubbing on yummy oils or any other fun, juicy way we can think of.

~Feeling all the way to essence, allowing expression of how deeply we feel, being in a free flow of presence with each other, sharing our emotions through bodily and voice expression and creating beauty through that.

~Sharing our gifts in the circle.

~Embodying the different aspects of the divine feminine, like Kali, Tara, the Mother, and Aphrodite etc etc. Supporting each other in expressing qualities we may hide.

~Prayer & Gratitude, allowing and opening up to our deepest devotion.

~Creating beautiful ceremonies for each other as we go through different life passages. For more information about Awakening Women, go to:

As we step into this new year, perhaps you too feel drawn to deepen your meditation practice, to be held in community, and to return to the stillness and nourishment that reconnect us to what truly matters.

After the deeply nourishing meditation immersion we shared last summer, I am happy to announce that we are opening the Sanctuary circle once again, for us to pause, drop in, and be restored in the living presence of the Goddess.

We will gather in February for Sanctuary ~ A Goddess-centered meditation series; weekly classes you can join from home. We will practice meditations that are gentle, somatic, and deeply nourishing.

Whether you are new to meditation, curious about exploring practice in a softer and embodied way, or if you are already familiar with somatic, ta***ic meditations and wish to go deeper, you are warmly welcome.

In addition to weekly meditation classes, we will also gather in Sisters by the Fire Satsangs for sharing and Q&A.

If you have joined this series before, you will find a blend of familiar and new practices offering continuity, deepening, and renewal to your meditation practice.

To register and more info https://awakeningwomen.com/living-goddess-meditation-series/

(There is an early bird discount if you register before January 20th.)

May we all find peace within our hearts
and may it ripple into our relationships,
our communities,
and our achingly beautiful world,
Chameli

Hello and Happy New Year!

Earlier this week, Lawrence Women’s Temple completed a four-month cycle of practice with the goddess Inanna, an ancient Sumerian goddess and the first recorded goddess for whom we have documented stories and hymns. Our journey with Inanna, and with our own inner processes, was profoundly potent. I am in deep awe of the work the women in circle did together, and I honor the courage, compassion, and realness that were shared.

For each of us, any “ending” is also a place of continuation, and of new beginnings. We are each walking our own path through the labyrinth of our lives, meeting ourselves anew with every step.

In this season of my life, there is a great deal of uncertainty and change unfolding within my family of origin, and I find myself being called into deeper and deeper surrender. I have chosen two words to guide me this year: grace and space. I am practicing patience - with myself and with others— allowing room for what is, for uncertainty, and for the clear choices that emerge when answers are ready to arise, rather than when they are forced.

And so, in this time of radical grace and spaciousness, I am choosing to pause Lawrence Women’s Temple. I imagine I may host occasional pop-up Temple gatherings this winter or early spring, as space allows. And having a defined schedule beyond the next few weeks feels irresponsible.

Also - there are truly beautiful resources and events being offered by Chameli and Awakening Women. If you are longing for practices that nourish the roots, trunk, and branches of your life and spiritual practice, I warmly encourage you to explore what they are offering. You can find those events at the link below.

I hold a deep and sincere hope that each of us receives what we need this year, and that we find the strength and peace to move forward consciously, with care for ourselves, Mother Earth, and each other.

Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, and however your path is unfolding, may you remember the magnificence of your soul, the power of your spirit, and the unending grace and love of the Divine Mother who holds us and breathes us all into being.

From the heart of my seat of practice to yours,

~ Jennifer

Good evening to you, precious sister. How are you? How is your heart?

The last many months have been full for me with a swirl of family changes, challenges, and unexpected turns with my mother's health. I’ve been stretched and uncertain at times... but I’m also here… steady and taking one day at a time.

When I reflect on the past months, what has carried me - again and again - is embodied presence. Letting myself shift my awareness to the beauty and steadiness available in each moment — the morning sunlight on the floor, my pup sleeping at my feet, the quiet strength of the trees outside the window... The palpable beauty and realness of each moment keeps me anchored when family happenings have been uncertain and in motion.

I am so grateful for Chameli, and the feminine embodiment practices she has given us that we use in Lawrence Women’s Temple. They are lifelines - maps that help me back home to the heart and soul of who I am and what matters most.

A few Sundays ago, Lawrence Women's Temple met for our Autumnal Retreat Day, practicing with pieces of the ancient myth of Inanna's descent into the underworld. The women in circle were invited to touch into the identities they've assumed that are restricting them... and to let go of what has grown heavy, all the while being held in by the circle in the unendingly compassionate presence of other women, supporting them through the journey.

Inanna's myth invites each of us to touch into the places where we don’t yet know how to make our next step… and rest into the unknowing... It was a beautifully gentle and potent day. I’m deeply touched by and grateful for the authenticity each woman has brought into the circle the last few months.

We’ll be completing our current closed-circle cycle at the beginning of January.

As I look towards 2026, I’m in the midst of planning a winter retreat with Lalita Devi, which is still taking shape. I’ll share details with you as soon as I have them. I’m feeling a soft excitement about what is showing up, and I look forward to sharing more about this soon!

As the days grow shorter and longer nights settle around us, may you feel the warm glow of your own heart lighting the way.

May the shakti keys of Inanna's descent offer you:
the courage to let go,
the grace to meet yourself as you are,
and the quiet knowing that renewal awaits.

I hold you in my heart with deep tenderness and respect for all that you are, and all that is evolving within you.

From the heart of my seat of practice to yours,

~ Jennifer
