I get the pleasure of modifying this beautiful 3 piece window from a convent (estimated 1908) that and purchased. I’m just adding glass to the sides to match the size of the other 2 windows. They will be installing it in their house! Pretty cool!

I open up the original came on the sides because it was smooshed together. That was a little tricky but it didn’t need replacing which was a relief! Next step is to putty and add whiting to grout and clean.

I’m taking a small break from stained glass. My sweet Rufus Aka Rufie, Rufie Ruf, Heeney Ruf, powdered donut boy, Sir, Rufie Doofie, Rufa Doof, sweet boy, Ruf, mister, handsome, etc. passed away yesterday. He had a cancerous tumor near his liver that metastasized to his lungs per an x-ray and urine sample to rule out fungal pneumonia. I found out this past Tuesday. He had a previous x-ray in February and it was clear as he was diagnosed with laryngeal paralysis. Who knows how long he had the tumor.

On Tuesday, the vet gave him 1-2 weeks to live. However, he was declining rapidly with his last respiratory rate that I counted at 94 as he was sleeping. Friday night was a rough night. He was restless, breathing hard, and not sleeping well. Gums and tongue were light pink/ white in color indicating an apparent lack of oxygen. By looking at him though, you really couldn’t tell he was so sick. He would still bring you toys, bark at people outside, and he started eating again. He was sleeping a lot more and looked really tired. I knew he didn’t feel well.

I woke up on Saturday morning with Rufus as we slept on the floor. I followed him wherever he went so he wouldn’t be alone. He couldn’t jump up on the bed anymore so he had to be lifted (he didn’t use the ramp). If he wanted to sleep in bed, we lifted him. I knew that I had a tough decision to make. I couldn’t let my poor boy struggle again. He is my baby and will always be my little boy.

He had the most amazing transition to heaven that we could give him. Words can’t describe how much Bare Roots Energy helped him and us with Reiki, ceremonial mediation, and as a death pet doula. Hall Veterinary Services with Dr. Hall came to my house to give Rufus a peaceful passing.

I experienced so many spiritual messages that has shook my soul. I’m changed forever in such a magical way. Heaven and God are real and I know I will see my Rufie boy again. I know he’ll meet me in my dreams soon. Love on your loves…our time on this plane is limited.
