'Emerge'
9" x 12" High Flow Acrylic airbrushed on paper. Finished with Liquitex Satin Varnish to protect pigment.
I came across a series of 9 black & white images of a head with the light source coming from a different direction in each one. I picked the one that evoked the strongest mood to me and decided to paint my own version of it. I used Pthalo Green mixed with varying amounts of Titanium White, Grey and Black to create the figure and background and decided to make the light flare on the eye red. I get an ominous, stoic but also somewhat hopeful feeling from it. Curious what you all see?
Original & prints available on my website. Original has a 1" white border on the 9" x 12" paper, painted area is 7" x 10". Prints come borderless.
