Quick Update: The Periphery Bow & League Start Reality Check 🏹🐒

Earlier before this league start, I speculated about the Periphery Unique Bow. I wanted to give you a quick update: I haven’t tested it as much as I planned. In the early endgame, it felt a bit lackluster with my current setup, so I decided to switch to my "Plan B" - the Ape Companion Boss build.

And honestly? The monkey is BLASTING! 🐒 I’m having a blast with this build, so I’m sticking with it for now.

Is the Periphery Bow actually weak? I wouldn't say that yet. It definitely needs heavy investment and a very specific setup (stacking flat damage on rings & quiver for those Azmerian Swarms) which I haven't fully optimized. Since you can't upgrade it with Runes, and the base weapon damage is low, the scaling curve is steep. It might still be a "hidden gem" for a niche meme build, but for now, I’m focused on the Companion.

I think most people are looking at the WRONG part of the new Periphery Unique Bow in PoE2 0.5.

Everyone is focused on the Azmerian Swarms…
…but the real potential might actually be the ailment interaction hidden in the bow itself.

Shock. Chill. Ignite. Freeze buildup.
Potentially ALL scaling together at the same time.

This honestly feels less like a minion bow… and more like the first true all-ailment stacker in Path of Exile 2.

Shadow seems obvious for Path of Exile 2 Patch 0.5… but is it really that simple?

New datamined weapons (daggers, flails - and even traps as weapon types) strongly point toward Shadow.
But when you look at all the weapons found in the game files, things start to get interesting.
