Letter Decks

Letter Decks We are the "lower decks" crew of the Enterprise NX-01, and we love to tell our stories about working on the show Star Trek: Enterprise! Well I'll tell you!

Why 'Letter' Decks, you ask? Our Enterprise is the only one that has lettered decks, not numbered.

Check out our shipmate Geneviere Anderson, PhD (Gen Anderson) on Portal 47! Her interviews are 🔥🔥🔥

What a way to kick off 2026 for Portal 47’s guest night! Thanks to “Ensign” Jen Anderson sharing her 3 seasons as Jolene Blalock’s stand-in and an ops officer in her own right- and her own spiritual/healing and botanical project today in Arizona.

Big thanks to Jen for sharing her wacky hiring story, lots of pics and memories, and all the emo of a tight and friendly stage crew surfing the ups and downs of a series on the bubble… and cancellation in the end. It was a lot more than you’d ever heard from her amid one of the Letter Deckers group panels at cons now… plus her personal trek helping veterans, abuse survivors and others with PTSD with the new Sonoma Desert Sanctuary desert facility and garden.

Here in the 60th anniversary year of TOS and the 10th year of Portal 47, the year is shaping up as a great line-up of guests and our great global community of Portales facing whatever the passing news, new Trek and changes to come may bring.

You can join us every month for the package and the access, all year long— the link is in bio!

Happy Veterans Day! All of us on the Letter Decks team want to express our particular appreciation for those who have served in the Armed Forces, both in the U.S. and Canada (Rememberance Day today). Without their example of showing pride in their service, and without the well-deserved recognition they receive, we wouldn't have one of the key elements that makes Letter Decks stand out as unique. It's our honor and privilege to cosplay our own characters from Star Trek: Enterprise as Starfleet veterans. Because of real-life veterans, we get a second chance to bring life to the characters we played over 20 years ago!

Pictured here is Lance, a Marine Corps veteran whom we met at the Washington Summer Con earlier this year as he was waiting to get an autograph from Bill Shatner. Amazing guy and a huge Star Trek fan!

Please donate to our partner organization, The Anderson-Arroyo Foundation (link in bio), run by our own Geneviere Anderson, PhD (aka Ensign Anderson). "Our goal is to provide Spiritual Retreats for Veterans, first responders, and other trauma survivors on their journey through PTSD and Moral Injury." Thank you!

Happy Star Trek Day!!! If it weren't for the visionary original Star Trek show going on the air 59 years ago today, we would never have had the honor and privilege of being part of this exceptional cast & crew. All of us in the Letter Decks cohort are forever grateful for the impact of Gene Roddenberry's legacy of Star Trek on our lives, and we look forward to a day when his vision for humanity is played out in reality.

"Happy (actual) Star Trek Day"... said our Letter Decks token Canadian, Glen Hambly, to me this morning. I felt my nerdy indignation start to kick in, but then I looked it up. Turns out he's technically right! Yet another Canadian achievement that apparently we (the U.S.) were too jealous of to concede credit for. Haha!

On a more personal professional note, one of our favorite Enterprise directors here in the Letter Decks cohort, Allan Kroeker, is also Canadian! Here's a shot of him during shooting on S4.E17 "Bound", on which several of us had featured parts.

"Life-changing"... that's the phrase that keeps coming to mind when I think about all that happened at Star Trek: Las Vegas.

It's been a couple of weeks since then, but I'm still working through processing everything that happened and all of the implications. What I can say is that the gratefulness I feel, not only to my friends from back on Enterprise for taking time out of their lives to come to Vegas and support my crazy Letter Decks venture, but to Creation Entertainment for their decades of faithful dedication in putting on Star Trek conventions, to Ryan T Husk for giving us a place to be part of it all, and to Larry Nemecek for being our enthusiastic champion from the start, CANNOT BE OVERSTATED. So it's hard to put into words what the experience was like, going to THE major Start Trek convention as a panelist, in a group that I (Duncan K Fraser) founded and coordinated! But here goes...

Have you ever been to a place where you really felt "seen" and valued? Or even better, have you ever been able to help someone ELSE feel seen and valued?

What about feeling like you were appreciated for your skills and contributions to a project, after that project went even better than you could have hoped and dreamed? And what if you didn't have to GUESS that you were appreciated, because people came up and TOLD you?

Or how about THIS crazy one... Have you ever been given an opportunity by someone important in your field, which made a huge difference in the course of your life, but you felt like they were so far above you that there was no WAY, after many years, that they remembered tiny, little you in the grand scope of their world? But then you encountered them randomly and they were THRILLED to see you and remembered you "VERY WELL"???

ALL of those happened for me in the course of the 5 days I spent at the biggest Star Trek convention in the world. My heart is so full, it could burst! There are so many individual stories to tell, I could spend the rest of my life doing so. And you know what? Now that Letter Decks is taking off, I will probably get to! God has truly blessed me in all this, and I can't wait to see what's next!

Happy Federation Day! On this date (August 12th) in the United Federation of Planets, they celebrate the joining of the original member planets, remembering that together, they are all better.

So it seemed fitting that today, Letter Decks can celebrate that we have officially joined with our larger Star Trek family in being on the schedule at conventions!

Fitting also because every last member of the 6-person panel (and our moderator!) were in the scene showing the historic signing of the charter for the Coalition of Planets on the show finale of Star Trek: Enterprise, "These are the Voyages" (S4.E22)

Getting invited to appear at Star Trek: Las Vegas 2025 was a blessing beyond our wildest expectations, and attending the event was an adventure of a lifetime! Much more to come on all of the long-awaited reunions and memorable moments from . Be sure to check out the link page in our bio, where you can find out more about each member of the Letter Decks crew, and sign up for our newsletter.

Part 2 (finally):

There were so many lovely cosplayers we got to meet, they wouldn't all fit in one post! With legendary Original Series cast members William Shatner and Walter Koenig in attendance, along with Voyager/Picard stars Jeri Ryan and Robert Picardo, superfans came dressed in their very best from all three Star Trek shows.

First, a big shout-out to birthday boy Nichalas (he spelled his name for me), who was in line to see Jeri. Such a beautiful soul! And his pal had an impressive collection of autographs with him, including folks from Enterprise!

Now in order of appearance, we have:

Brandon Green as Star Trek: The Original Series (TOS) Jim Kirk - he even got the boot blousing right!

Two lovely ladies who dig Enterprise despite their TOS attire (+1 vendor photobombing at the top)

The very nice Bea and David sharing a father/daughter love of TOS (they lost each other in the crowds, but we reunited them)

Stunning Darcy in her TNG medical jumpsuit, winning for most excellent Vulcan eyebrows (Thanks again for the tip about event pins!)

Then we have Chelsea, sporting an impressive TOS beehive hairdo, and Bill, whose styled beard and kilt (sadly not shown), deserve special mention

We found Josh sporting one of the always stylish Star Trek: Picard jackets

The tribble lady, who preferred to remain anonymous to protect her ever-growing brood of fluff balls (additional tribbles were elsewhere about her person)

The cutest young couple Anisha and Sumit, who braved the crowds with their very energetic 3-year-old girl (out of the shot with momma holding on; dressed up as Rey from that OTHER "Star" franchise). Quite daring and intrepid!

Last in the lineup, we have two lovely fans who are hands down the winners of the "most suspicious of us" competition. The aura of menace they projected when we first approached them was so strong, we completely forgot to get their names. I guess we looked a little sketch! Haha! But after they found out who we were, it was all smiles and excellent props. (WHEW! 😬)

If anyone seeing this knows people we failed to tag, please dm us. More from Letter Decks soon!
