Public art is on the move in Clark County!

This morning Comm. Justin Jones and RTC unveiled a double-deck bus wrapped with original artwork by local artist Loisse Ledres.

Her mural titled “Day and Night in Chinatown” features a vibrant composition of food, landmarks, and many other “Easter eggs” that viewers spot.

Today, we unveiled “Viva Comunidad: Healing Through Unity,” created by talented local artist Juan Cuevas, at Parkdale Recreation Center.

What began as the second piece in Clark County’s Arts Plan has been transformed into an extraordinary mural that reflects the strength and unity of our East Las Vegas community.

Thank you to our Clark County Public Arts team and Juan for bringing this vision to life. I was also honored to present him with a proclamation recognizing his work.

This is one of the many Latino Heritage Month celebrations we’ve had across District E, and I’m proud to continue celebrating our culture and supporting local artists.

Please join Commissioner Michael Naft and Clark County Parks & Recreation’s Public Arts Office in celebrating the current ZAP 18 project! Local artists Lee Lanier, Eleazar Mora, and Arthur Richmond were chosen to paint nine utility boxes across the town of Searchlight, Nevada. The dedication will be held as part of the Town Hall Monthly Meeting agenda.

Thank you Ms. AyeVee for two years of poetry, creativity, and community!

From the dozens of local poets she platformed, to the thousands of people she impacted, to every corner of Clark County, Ms. AyeVee leaves behind a legacy of excellence.

As we mark the end of her tenure as Clark County Poet Laureate, please enjoy this video highlighting all the beautiful memories from Ms. AyeVee’s term as well as moments from Celebrating Ms. AyeVee earlier this month.

This video also features the first public performance of Ms. AyeVee’s poet laureate poem “Cactus Blooms and Creosote.”

Full Scope Workshop for October invites Casey Fremont, Executive Director for Art Production Fund. Casey will be speaking to us about her experience in public art and what she is doing with the Art Production Fund.

The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer segment where attendees can ask Casey questions about the topics covered. Announcements of Clark County current and future opportunities, events, and services will close out the workshop. Attendees will receive a copy of the announcements through email. This workshop will be recorded.
