Our mission is to provide programming that enlightens and connects Las Vegas to the larger Black diaspora. This weekly show allows dialogue between different levels of issues that impact our small yet powerful Power 88 village.
“Like it is radio” strives to maintain an atmosphere where candid views of the community at large can have meaningful dialogue can and be exchanged on a regular basis thru radio. Power 88.1 grants this time in programming to familiarize and or acquaint listeners with subjects that are often overlooked in the mass media sources, or simply lack diversity in its interpretations for many of my listeners. "Social, economic and spiritual issues are all common here on Like it is Radio.” Other hot button issues from gay marriage to Black republicans, low graduation rates leading to high crime, issues with of police and of course politics are addressed on this award winning highly rated show. feels that his direct responsibility is to unite listeners with pertinent information in an enlightening and entertaining way. “There may be some furniture moving at times as we are family and may disagree but we grow from these disagreements by making sure that we have a respectful discussion and everyone’s voices are heard.”
Recent guests have ranged from Dr. Frances Crest Wellsing MD to Hall of Fame Director Mr. Bill Duke, and most recently, also making her first Power 88 radio appearance since being appointed DNC leader Donna Brazile and we were honored that she chose Like It Is Radio for her lead media outlet during a recent visit. Notables from Senator Harry Reid to NAACP Leader Cornell Brooks, and Dr. Robert Folwer. Additionally, personalities from the Nation of Islam, Greek organizations, veterans, business leaders, activist groups and local elected officials appear regularly on the show to keep the booked and provide for informed and engaged community.
