The Birdman - World Class Bird Shows

The Birdman - World Class Bird Shows The nation's largest traveling bird show. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xZu1-_VKZF8 Welcome to the coolest bird show ever created.

From our huge free flying condors to tame high-jumping cassowaries to comical pelicans, our free-flight and natural behavior-based bird shows are frequently referred to as being superior to the largest budget zoo shows. Our team includes a wide variety of endangered spectacular birds along with our own design and fabrication department which can provide any venue, large or small, with a variety of

themed shows. Whenever possible, we incorporate multi-media staging for a 21st century level show approach. We are fully self-contained and make frequent media appearances to support both your fair as well as any bird show sponsors. Singing parrots, flying hornbills, laughing kookaburra… our show has it all! We even recently added a portable release tower which allows us to fly more birds over the audience.

A little bit of wind came up during today's shows and it made for a beautiful eagle fish catch.

We are so proud of "Nadua," the newest member of our trained eagle team and the first hatched and still only trained White-tailed eagle in the US. This species is basically Europe's version of the Northern Bald Eagle which is a thicker and heavier than Southern Balds because of the colder arctic ocean temperatures. When fully mature she will have the bright white tail, the dark body, but she will have a light brown head instead of white.
The word "nadua" in Commanche means "come keep warm with us" which is fitting since this cold arctic Norwegian sea eagle is now living in the warm summers of Las Vegas.
As a Master Eagle Falconer I know we can't claim to have an expert trained eagle unless the bird is flying, and Nadua is fantastic at catching a fish during our presentations. She is still young and tries to outsmart the routine, but she is developing into a first class trained performing letting audiences see up close the famous fish grab most sea eagles exhibit in the wild.

As hunting season begins, please help us spread the word to prevent lead from being put into our environment. Over 85% of the bald eagles admitted to TRC’s raptor hospital have lead in their blood, with a significant portion suffering from severe and lethal toxicity. Hunters can take two effective actions that help prevent the accidental poisoning of eagles.

This eagle is displaying labored breathing associated with lead poisoning. Lead does not directly affect the respiratory system, but it affects the neurological center of the brain that controls breathing.

During deer hunting season, eagles scavenging on gut piles or unrecovered deer contaminated with lead-based ammunition, ingest this deadly toxin. The fragmented lead bullets, used widely in hunting, are found to disperse dangerously within the deer carcass, turning what should be a natural act of scavenging into a lethal meal for these majestic birds.

Additionally, hunters can redefine their love for nature and their role as conservationists. With over 100,000 deer hunted annually in Minnesota alone, the choice of ammunition has a far-reaching impact on our wildlife and environment. Choosing non-toxic ammunition like copper is a choice that benefits not just eagles but all wildlife, and even hunters themselves, by providing a safer food source. It’s a small change with a massive impact, safeguarding the future of the bald eagle and honoring the true spirit of hunting and conservation.

All set up, show opens tomorrow. I always put a bath pan out on stage in case the big birds want a drink during the shows, or a bath, it's all fine with me. There's nothing more sacred than stealing some quiet time as the sun goes down.

Did you know that female Andean condors have a small trace of caruncle? You can see the small line in exactly the same place where the blood vessels of a male caruncle are rooted.
